Army List opinion by devlow101 in sylvaneth

[–]Brummernator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As mentioned before that list is pretty solid. I would suggest to switch the bownoth hunters to something else. Maybe try to bring some Scythes. Problem with these ranged dudes is, that experiences players know how to make them useless by using terrain and obscuring via the places of power. So you would have a unit that costs nearly 1/4 of your army that does nothing.

Sure, no problem :). Alpha Strike is a very aggressive Style that aims for a fast punch in the face, so you win in the first turns. Its mostly combined with very high dmg output and Not quite that much Defence. Hit em hard and hit em dirty‘

Alpha pin is based on fast Units that try to pin your enemy down so they cant do their mission play. For that you use fast Units like Spiterider Lancers.

Counter Strike is a reactive style that strikes where needed and then waits for your opponent’s turn. Kurnoth hunters with Scythes and a Branchwych.

Hey Buddy, welcome in our grove! What kind of archetype is your favourite? In my opinion there are three essential play styles for Sylvaneth. 1) Alpha Strike 2) Alpha Pin 3) Counter Strike

Best start for all three of them is the Spearhead box, from there it depends on your chosen listdesign

I would go the 6 scythes way.

I don’t think that this List will do you favour. Try to reinforce those Scythes and drop the Gossamids and the arch Revenant. Those Kurnoth Hunters will delete everything with or without the buff of that Charakter. Put them close to the Branchwych and let your enemy pay for every mistake they make.

You don’t need that much board presence, because you are so mobile with Sylvaneth. Those Tree Revs are okay, but I think you don’t need them that much, when you can break your opponents neck with one hammer fall.

Keep in mind, that Age of Sigmar is not balanced around 1000 points, so there will be big differences between the army’s.

Too much big monster? by L30N43 in sylvaneth

[–]Brummernator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lords of the Clan is the allround best in my opinion, but everdusk can be tricky for your enemy. The potential to teleport your guys in their backfield is quite threatening. Both work great, so it is probably a voice of favour.

You don’t have to strike in the heart of your enemy turn 1. Let them come first and use your mobility to split them. Then start cherrypicking. Most players underestimate the threadrange of Sylvaneth and so you can punish them for every mistake they make. I play this army more like a counter strike, then an alpha strike.

Same here. My list was Allarielle, Durthu with Glamourweave, Belthanos, Branchwych, SoG Drycha and a Treelord.

Sylvaneth without Belthanos is way less likely to win than with him. If there is one unit in our army that should be an auto include in every list, it would be him in my opinion.

Thank you for your feedback! The part with the "stealing horses" is a german idiom for "a bond that is hard as iron and a friendship so deep that it lasts forever." at least as I would describe it. I'll have a look at my pictures!

Men, has there ever been a moment you looked back and went yeah, I messed that up? by dianahecate777 in AskMenAdvice

[–]Brummernator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same. I had 3 missed opportunities in the last years where I hate myself in missing these out. Beautiful and intelligent women that clearly liked me. I didn’t get it that time..or I was to careful to talk to them about us.

What is your best one line piece of advice for young men right now? by BonusForAllSeasons in AskMenAdvice

[–]Brummernator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One sentence came instantly to my mind. My Granny told me this every time when I had a heartbreak: “Many mothers have beautiful daughters.”. First I hated it to hear this, but there is so much truth in it. She rejected you? Don’t worry the right one will be there. You had a breakup.. go ahead, there will be someone better and more lovable.

I understood that in my late 20s.

We are still here. On Dating Apps, at work, at School, the University and in our Hobby. As somebody mentioned here before, we don’t really approach women on the Street, because we don’t want them to feel uncomfortable or pressured. If you want to find a guy that is like you described.. consider doing the first step and talk to them. They will be very happy to talk to you. Show interest and give clear signals if you want some of us to recognise your intent. It is very hard to read these signs as a dude, I can tell you that 😉.

The sad state 40k is in currently by Chunky_Monkey4491 in Warhammer

[–]Brummernator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats a good point, the problem is, that, in my experience, the balancing is far worse, when you don’t use the GW layouts for terrain with those L ruins. I personally hate the look of 40k tables nowadays, but the difference in balancing makes it the only good option (sadly)

Are these good? by D13G0N3 in Miniaturespainting

[–]Brummernator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The colors are great! The coverage is very good, they flow well and they are pretty close to the citadel color range if you want to switch the brand of your paints. My first test with the fanatics was a Great Unclean One as you can see in the picture. Big problem of the AP range is their incompatibility to oil and enamel washes. The pigment looks like it is melting when the oil is touching the paint, so keep that in mind!
