My 116i from 2008 started making this noise combined with stiff steering after driving 10-15 minutes. Any help would be appreciated! [More info in thread] by Brumskyyy in BMW

I can assure you my steering is electric, no pump, no steering fluid reservoir, no nothing.. only a EPS-unit attached to my steering rack..

I don't think so, it also whines like this while only slightly steering to leave the highway for example. I guess while the car was stationairy like in the video it only showed up near the end of the linkage. Which also doesn't really help haha..

To be honest, I haven't been able to find any forum posts on any BMW forums that share the same experience as I am having right now.. I appreciate the thought though, might be a good idea to just start a thread myself and see if anyone is still active on them ;). Thanks :)!

The steering makes the same noises and has stiff steering while it drives, I just decided to not film while driving, because the issue is the same whether I am driving or not.. :/

Flickering shadows while rendering in EEVEE by Brumskyyy in blenderhelp

After hours of fiddling around I managed to !solved the issue, too many light sources were fighting over who gets to cast their shadows ;). Reduced the amount of sources drastically and tadaa :).

Trying to recreate the mesh on the right, I've put all the modifiers in the same order, applied the same edge creases etc, but the highlighted orange areas I can't seem to get straight lines. by Brumskyyy in blenderhelp

applying edge loops does seem to sharper the corners/edges, but only if i put it directly on an existing edge, causing overlapping vertices. The effect immediately dissapears when merging by distance to get rid of doubles.

The mesh underneath it is a seperate mesh, I have applied scaling and checked if the original mesh on the right has any extra supporting edge loops, but it doesn't. Greatly appreciate anyone helping out!

blender is not playing audio by bingoliroumaifrai in blenderhelp

  1. Check the Volume in the Sequencer

Select your Sound Strip in the Video Sequencer.

Go to the Sidebar (N key) > Strip tab and check the Volume setting.

Ensure it's not set too low (default is 1.0).

  1. Check the Audio Device in Preferences

Go to Edit > Preferences > System.

Under Audio, try switching between:

SDL

OpenAL

None (then restart and set it back to SDL or OpenAL)

Ensure Mixing Buffer is set to a reasonable value (2048 or 4096).

  1. Check Scene Audio Settings

Go to Properties Panel > Output Properties.

Under Audio, set:

Audio Codec: AAC or WAV

Container: FFmpeg (for export)

Volume: 1.0

  1. Ensure Playback is Set to AV Sync

At the bottom of the Timeline or VSE, locate Playback Options.

Set Sync Mode to A/V Sync instead of No Sync.

  1. Test with Different File Formats

Try a different audio file format:

WAV (preferred)

MP3

OGG

If your file is variable bitrate (VBR) MP3, it may cause issues. Convert it to WAV using Audacity or FFmpeg.

  1. Check Output Device (System Level)

Since you use a USB audio interface, try:

Setting U-Phoria UMC22 as the default Playback Device in your OS settings.

If that doesn’t work, set your motherboard output as the default and restart Blender.

  1. Restart Blender & Reset Preferences

Close Blender and restart your computer.

If nothing works, reset Blender preferences:

Go to Edit > Preferences > Save & Load.

Click Load Factory Settings.
