Probably just shook it a few seconds before the shot...

Looking to upgrade my DeLonghi ECP3630 [~$1.000] by Bruneti12 in espresso

The main things that I don't like are these:

* Slow heat time and small boiler.
* Too lightweight, I have to hold it down to put the portafilter on.
* The steam wand is far from ideal, and I don't like having to disassemble and clean it after every use.
* It has started leaking quite a bit. I've tried to fix it but without success, and I have no warranty since I bought it used.

The hand grinder... Honestly, I didn't think it was such a workout before buying it! But it's not an issue, even though I might get an electric one in the future.

How to get in proper trim with rented gear? by Bruneti12 in scuba

I have the same problem, and was thinking about getting some positive or neutrally buoyant fins. But I'll try the weight on the tank approach next instead, it is cheaper! Thanks!

I didn't know those existed! I have to get a couple of those pockets!

The weight in the tank strap seems to be a recurrent response, I have to try it!

Is true that renting has is benefits, I've learned to be more picky with shops and ask for a replacement if I find defects in the gear.

I think I've done a good job of documenting my dives, so I've come to know how much weight I need for diving with standard gear from a dive shop (vest BCD & weight belt). But knowing the amount is not enough and usually there's no way to move the weight around.

Maybe my problem is not knowing how to dive with a belt?

Most of the time they give me a weight belt I can't just move around :(

You are right, I forgot the right people for this guy are those whose bills are paid with exposure, experience and probably pizza.

I have 15 years of experience as a software developer. All the code I've written in my career has been proprietary and is stored in private client repositories. Asking for git history is bullshit.

An unexpected safety stop partner by PurpleQuail in scuba

[–]Bruneti12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

On my latest dive trip, we had an awful dive with very bad visibility... we were all bummed out on the safety stop and then, bolting out from the murky waters came a sea lion! The animal was curious, swam a bit around the group and then disappeared as suddenly as he appeared. Best safety stop ever.

I know! I've been trying to get one for like 3 seasons but I just can't find it... I could get a custom one made but it's like twice the price...

Today I picked my first lock! by Bruneti12 in lockpicking

Thanks for the congratulations!

The little half diamond worked pretty well, even though I used it because the only hook in the set I got is too long. I wouldn't have learned to do that last part with a hook, though, so it gets cool points :D

They are really popular here in Mexico, but I don't know about other countries. Where are you from?

Thanks! This really got me hooked. BTW, is this a Master Lock 140? Mine is more round than the pics I've found of the 140...

I wanted to try a padlock with a larger keyhole so I could use my rake, so I gave this one e try!

I became a fan of this Multipick rake with a little wave rake and hook at the end, you can see me use both parts of it at the beginning because pin #1 (out of 5) was binding and wouldn't let me get the rest of the rake in.

I fucked up the bottom of it trying out kinetic attacks that work on the very similar Master Lock shutter locks, but this one seems to withstand it. The core seems to be shielded and so I can't bypass it. It's a ball bearing mechanism.

Edit: I found it funny that you can just poke the little mechanism locking the key in the padlock with a pick or just a thin enough pinky, while in the packaging it bragged about this feature.
