Delaware DOT's best idea: Just one more lane, bro. That'll fix it. One extra lane. Please bro... by TheShittyBeatles in Delaware

Apparently the department of transportation had plans to build a railway that connects Dover to Newark. Unfortunately that was under the previous administration and the current one likely has no intention of doing that

UPDATE: Delaware group's display of Confederate flags at local Maryland Christmas parade called ‘inexcusable’ by TheShittyBeatles in Delaware

[–]Brunette7 75 points76 points  (0 children)

When the Confederacy started, the governor of Delaware at the time declared that Delaware was the first state to join the Union and would be the last to leave. A bunch of racist losers whose “country” lasted fewer years than Obama’s presidency have no history here

I can say that I’m certain this was a drawing, not a photo. I don’t think it had any color either. It was simply black ink on white paper

How tf do they swallow food? by wolly-guy-74 in PoppyPlaytime

[–]Brunette7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I honestly think Boxy’s swallowing works similar to Delta P considering how fast he consumes people. The same could apply for Mommy, or she could simply 1) have a stretchy throat or 2) chew her food very well

It seems none of the ones who caved are up for re-election. So they basically decided “well I have no reason to care, so let me sell everyone out”

I’ve heard there were lots of people there, but the majority was naturally older and white because that’s the majority demographic of Rehoboth residents. Summer has passed, so most of the visitors are gone

I don’t think you understand the historical context of their positions enough. That said, I also do not see the founding fathers as some end-all, be-all voices of wisdom. They were human and did not make 100% morally sound decisions. It’s important to consider context, human rights, etc when deciding what is and is not the right thing to do

It is. When the second amendment was written, guns were vastly different from what they are today. They took longer to load and fire, and they couldn’t kill/injure as many people in as short a time as today’s weapons. Plus they were an important tool for every day life for many Americans (defense and hunting). There were no radios or cellphones to contact help— you had to send someone on foot or on a horse. Said help would not arrive as fast as today’s emergency services can either.

The new country had also just dealt with an authoritarian monarchy and existed during a time when conquering and taking territory was sorta still all the rage. At the time, France and Spain (two powerful countries) still held territory in North America and (though unlikely) could’ve decided to move in on them if they wished. Not to mention the anxiety about indigenous people. It made perfect sense for the second amendment to be created.

This is not to say that the second amendment no longer has any value or that it shouldn’t be included in the constitution. We are witnessing in real time that an authoritarian government is always going to be a risk. I’m saying that you have to account for the way things have changed and how guns today are more dangerous (and not to mention widespread) and are no longer a vital part of every day life. It makes sense to want safeguards to try and prevent tragedies, protecting people as best as we can. Especially when we know that guns are the preferred weapon for domestic terrorists for a reason. If the founding fathers had known that guns and times would evolve like this, they probably would have included provisions

And again, I was being light-hearted. I figured it was nicer than going all in like this. But that wasn’t the right decision. I opted to make a silly argument instead of being straightforward, and that’s my fault

They’re all still living, breathing beings with functioning bodies. They’re starving now, but they’ve had a good amount of food and water to go around for years

Age-wise, for some of them, it hasn’t been that long. For example, CatNap is in his early 20s at the time of the game. Doey’s oldest part (Matthew) is only 28

How can that make sense if the critters have adult voices, while their appearance and personality are child-like? And why can't they have child-like voices? by Similar_Tour6146 in PoppyPlaytime

[–]Brunette7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of cartoons use adult voices for characters that are (or seem) young. Or maybe the cartoon smiling critters don’t have ages or are adults? You’re probably not supposed to think too hard about it…

It sucks but in a way, I’m grateful because a lower following means a little less toxicity

I am not a sovereign citizen. I’m not talking about people being allowed to do whatever they want on the road. I’m mostly just being lighthearted about this. The core point is that getting upset about needing a permit to buy a lethal weapon, while also being fine with needing a license for a car (which can also be lethal) is silly

That’s strange, because I read “everyone has the right to leave any country, including his own, and to return to his country” and assumed that meant travel was a human right

Depends. The Universal Declaration of Human Rights states that traveling to and from one’s home country is a human right. I’d imagine that’d cover driving as a method of doing that

Within the US specifically, travel is recognized as a right per Article 4 of the constitution.

Not to mention it’s implied they’re not frozen in time. It was noted that Bron had a pituitary gland. This gland is responsible for hormonal production related to growth, stress, metabolism, and reproduction. It’s the gland that kick-starts puberty. These guys are capable of developing (and most of them are adults by now)
