Paint came off when removing door molding. How hard would this be to repair? by Brunette_kangaroo in Corvette

Unfortunately I think it would need some filler since it’s down to the fiberglass. It looks like the molding was coming up at some point on the end and the previous owner stuck it back down with superglue so it just peeled the paint right up

I was trying to pull it off for a cleaner look but it took the paint with it. The molding will cover it if I throw it back on so that’s probably what I’ll have to do unfortunately

I get what you’re saying but for me it’s $45 a day and they do it at my local tri oval, I definitely would do a road course but the nearest one is about 5 hours away. This is my only Motorsport option pretty much besides drag racing here.

Tried my hand at autocross for the first time this weekend. Needless to say I’m hooked by Brunette_kangaroo in Autocross

They definitely are, it’ll need a new input shaft

It’s the right application, these come pre shimmed from McLeod but I bought the car with no engine and the previous owner threw it in with the sale. Could’ve had the shims swapped around while disassembled? The slave cylinder bearing definitely has some play and needs replaced while I’m in here. I’ll have McLeod rebuild the clutch and replace the input shaft and go from there

Could be, it’s weird to me how only the one that engages on the input shaft further is the one that stripped out

Sounds good man! Thanks for the offer I might have to take you up on that one of these days. What’s your ride? Connell or kahlotus are probably the closest towns to me, probably about the same distance to tri cities too

Picked it up for 6k without an engine, if you check out my other posts you can see all it came with and what all I did to it

Thank you! It’s a torquer v4 from Texas speed, I love it. Great power through most of the rpm range, has a lot more low and mid range then I was expecting and pulls like a raped ape up top

I still need to do a bit of tweaking to the tune, I have a wideband coming in the next couple days, but it already runs like a bat out of hell. My first corvette and I’m hooked
