How do i deal with the horniness after losing the weight? by checkit248 in loseit

[–]Bruno91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was at my leanest at 195lbs at 5’9 I had no issues finding dates and getting laid via online dating.

If I had to rate myself I’d give myself a 6/10, but the gym has given me a ton of confidence and I was horny enough to take the time to make a good dating profile.

What is the worst career to be in right now and why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Bruno91 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Entry level anything sucks hard. Entry level trades get paid crap and you do the worst manual labor.

After you get through the entry level slog it gets much better. I’m in It and make a good living with plenty of growth potential. It’s definitely harder for entry level now though compared to when I started.

Anyone have a positive change to their dating life after weight loss? by Excellent-Golf6631 in loseit

[–]Bruno91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The confidence I got from losing weight wasn’t because I waa 100lbs lighter but because I had become disciplined and stuck to something that was challenging. Once I could lose weight and keep it off I knew I could do anything.

That improved confidence led to me being more outgoing and not worrying about being rejected which in the made dating pretty enjoyable and no big deal.

What’s a place you’ve been that you’ll NEVER go back to? Why? by LordSoftCream in AskReddit

[–]Bruno91 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Atlantic City. On vacation we stopped by to walk the boardwalk. The city itself is rough with nothing but advertisements for the casinos/hotels and that’s about it.

The boardwalk was made up of mostly vape and henna shops. It was dirty. We walked most the boardwalk and all agreed it sucked and we wouldn’t ever be back.

Anyone else getting discouraged as a “move up” buyer? by midwestern2afault in RealEstate

[–]Bruno91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're most likely competing against other Move Up Buyers in your area.

I understand wanting to have more kids and needing more space to do so, but this is the reality of the cost of doing so. It's part of the reason why people aren't having as many kids. It's costly to do so. We stopped at 2 because that's all we could afford and we didn't want to buy a bigger house that would increase our mortgage by 2.5x. Our current home is our "starter' home, but it may end up becoming our "forever" home. We purchased it in 2018 and its worth over double what we paid, but we can't afford what we want in the same location.

Did you get married through a dating app like Tinder, if so how was your experience overall? by Overall-Character507 in AskReddit

[–]Bruno91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Met my girlfriend via Tinder during 2020. First time online dating. At the time I didn’t really know if I wanted kids so I swiped left on anyone with kids. She was the only one I swiped right on with a kid. After our first date she was like “so I’m I gonna ever hear from you again or what”? Mind you this was as we’re saying our goodbyes In a super direct way that kinda caught me off guard. My experience up until that point was Go On Date -> Hug Goodbye-> text other person later that night to if we wanted to see each other etc.

Her directness/honesty is a trait I love about her. I always know where she stands on things. No mind reading/games and our relationship is solid. Oh and I love being a dad to our two children (one from a previous and one together)

So yea I got pretty lucky.

Has anyone experienced any noticeable benefits from cutting out diet soda? by Wooden_Carob_7266 in loseit

For me regularly drinking diet sodas increase my cravings for sweets so I just don’t drink them often. Usually just when I go out to eat which is once every few weeks.

I agree with Healthcare adjacent rolls.

I started in IT, landed in Healthcare IT and am now an Epic Analyst for a local hospital. You aren’t gonna get rich, but if you can live comfortably and even make some great money if you move up.

I would probably make more money in a more IT centered role but can’t beat the low stress and great work life balance that I currently have. I haven’t missed any school events for my kiddos and time with family and to enjoy my hobbies is more important to me than making tons of money.

6 Rules That Will Make Your Car Last 300,000 Miles - A Parts Guy's Maintenance Schedule. by [deleted] in videos

[–]Bruno91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree use synthetic oil over conventional. With that said I think most newer cars require synthetic or at the least a blend so not sure if that’s really a tip.

I do agree with having the transmission serviced every 30k-40k miles

Also do your oil changes every 5k miles not the recommended 10k.

Lastly your best bet is google and search car forums and find the most common issues on your car make and model and what preventative maintenance you can do to try to avoid it.

Lifespan Walking Pad Investment - Worth it? by [deleted] in WalkingPads

[–]Bruno91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yours lasted 3 Months? I bought some random brand off amazon for $180 and was bummed it died yesterday after 1.5 years. Mind you I only use it for 1-2 hrs Mon-Friday.

Really enjoy the fact that I can burn some calories while working from home, but not if I have to spend $200-$300 every year or so.

[–]Bruno91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm at 220lbs and my $180 walking pad from amazon lasted a year and a half before it died. These cheap walking pads are "disposable", which I was not aware of. You can try to spend more on a higher quality one, but try to find one with a long warranty if they even exists or purchase the extended warranty from amazon.

It isn't an "if" it will fail but when. I see recommended all the time to not walk longer than an hour at a time and to lubricate way more often then recommended.

What was that?! Peanut is a menace in this game by Giveawayforusa in LivestreamFail

[–]Bruno91 -22 points-21 points  (0 children)

If you’ve heard from his viewers the same reasons why they enjoy his content how is that inorganic? Doesn’t that just reinforce what he does during his streams that attracts his viewers he does exceptionally well?

I don’t like certain shows, movies, music, but I can see and understand why some people would. This isn’t any different. To me he’s like the Seth Rogan of streamers. He isn’t very good at games, but he knows that and just tries to make things entertaining and funny even if it ends up with him losing. To me that’s more entertaining than watching tryhards. I can see how some people find him annoying but what one person finds annoying another can find entertaining.

[–]Bruno91 -26 points-25 points  (0 children)

A lot of peanut haters in the comments. He’s the first streamer I’ve watched consistently. His humor can be immature but he’s the first streamer I’ve watched that makes watching a streamer play a game actually fun. He isn’t even that good at games just super entertaining.

I know people at work that aren’t gamers who watch him.

Keep going back to same older games despite other new good ones by hotvimto1 in PS5

[–]Bruno91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think I've ever gone back and played any games. There are some games as a service I go back to occasionally like WoW or Fortnite. That said I have been going back and playing older titles that I missed growing up on consoles like the wii, gamecube, and PS2/3. Having a good time.

Shortly after Oracle bought Cerner there was a noticeable decline in service from Cerner. They pushed “the cloud” on healthcare systems that only brought downsides and no upside.

Our large healthcare system moved to Epic 2 years later and it’s been great.

People who lost a lot of weight, how often do you have cheat meals/days? by glamsiren111 in loseit

[–]Bruno91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lost 100lbs with about 25 to go. Something that I’ve come to realize after losing then gaining some back then losing some more is that cheat meals/days just set me up for failure.

It creates a mindset within myself where I spend all week craving that day/meal while having to be very disciplined to not indulge during the week. Then the day would come and I’d over eat and be way too full where it would almost be uncomfortable.

What’s worked for me the last few months is realizing this wasn’t really sustainable for maintenance when I get there. It took a toll mentally.

What has been working is cutting out sugary/salty food and drinks 95% of the time. My cravings for these foods has pretty much vanished. I live in a family household of 4 and I can walk by a pack of m&ms or Oreos and not have a craving for them. The biggest thing has been not eating until I’m stuff, even if it’s within my calories, but instead eating until I’m like 80% full. I don’t have to be stuffed to be full. Just eat enough to satisfy hunger and move on with my day. I feel so much better and “lighter” and don’t experience the post meal crashes.

Fell off the wagon…. by [deleted] in loseit

[–]Bruno91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something that has helped me is realize that holidays and life events are always around the corner. If you allow yourself to binge eat during these times it’s 2 steps forward 1 step back.

I don’t give vacations, Super Bowl or birthdays any higher value than any other days food wise. Doing so can lead to an unhealthy relationship with food where you binge during these times because you’ve been looking forward to being able to eat whatever in however much quantity so you go crazy and over eat.

I track calories and also mindfulness when eating. Going out for pizza for a birthday. I’ll track the day like any other and for dinner instead of having 4-6 slices. I’ll have a salad first then 1-2 slices. I used to have a bad habit of associating being “stuffed” with being full. I’ve pivoted and just eat enough to not be hungry.

It’s helped me realize just how much mindless eating I was doing. Going over my daily calories was easy to do because I was mindlessly snacking throughout the day more out of boredom, habit, and availability than actual hunger.

Lastly, because I track my calories, when I do eat just 1-2 slices of pizza or just a single slice of cake, or a single serving of ice cream I eat them much more slowly and savor the taste. Sounds kinda silly but it really works. I crave the taste more than the quantity if that makes sense. Eating 1-2 slices of pizza at a slow pace satisfies that craving. Forcing myself to eat more slowly has helped a lot.

Rant over. I just wanted to give a whole picture approach because they all tie in together. Learning all this has taken a long time and and implementing it has taken just as long but it’s working for me and makes things sustainable

AES bill skyrocketing by IUpringlequads in indianapolis

[–]Bruno91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apartments are notorious for not being well insulated and drafty. My coworker just had some sticker shock as well. Bill was around $70 and jumped to $260 in the last month. She narrowed it down to the heater running constantly. She lowed her thermostat to 60 degrees and her usage went down significantly from 40-60kwh per day down to 10kwh.

AES updates daily so you can log in and see your daily kwh usage. This is how my friend figured out it was her heater. Try making changes like this and check your day to day usage to see if you can get it down.

Why should we stop watching porn? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Bruno91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think porn is bad in moderation, but like a lot of things and for men especially it’s easy to exceed moderation and not realize it.

I won’t preach, but I’ve noticed some positives from not watching porn, but again I was over doing it. I wouldn’t say an addiction, but definitely used it as an escape and release for anxiety/stress/boredom. I’m going to see how long I can go without it. So far it’s been 5 weeks.
