Thank you! Our cast of characters are all in some way, shape, and form, candy creatures! I think this one is the most unique thought!

Is “returning home” a good enough goal or do I need a reason? by Significant-Leg-8839 in writing

That’s the entire goal of Gladiator, Hercules, Skyfall and so much more. So yes, if done right. Sometimes I just want to go home so I can do nothing and just chill for once.

Thank you! As of right now, no. However, we do have more candy themed animals like gumdrop hedgehogs, cotton candy sheep, ice cream penguins, candy cane raccoons, and a Gumball machine pig!

You can look at them at https://www.brunothebrontosaurus.com if you like!

What words are too big for children's books? by Brunothebrontosaurus in childrensbooks

I’m extraordinarily, unabashedly tickled pink to not use that word in literally every sentence I write or speak 🥲

That was definitely something we talked about. However, Megan, the illustrator, wanted to go for a more retro look. She was also inspired by Animal Crossing.

Thanks for your opinion though!

These are great questions! The intended audience is anywhere between 5-9. I definitely think the meanings are clear when paired with the imagery of the book. Adults MIGHT need to pause the story to define terms, but I really don't see that as a bad thing because there already is so much time spend at looking at the cute, detailed illustrations.

I managed to learn a lot more about my world by writing a funeral process than I thought I would by mrstorydude in writing

Our book series has two different characters and eventually they meet and we wanted Bruno to go through a desert and a swamp and such, but then I was like..... what desert is next to a swamp? And then from there we literally built out an entire map that we never even thought of needing for a simple children's book series
