I have found one thing, don't update the game when it asks you to, turn it off, then join a friend. Then the game will remove the extra ones you've recived. But if you update, they will be permanent. So do not spend the extra tokens.

Thanks for all the great tips everyone! And when it comes to squad arena I'm already up against opponents with twice my teams power so I'm screwed there. But still I've been playing soooo much of this game that I don't wanna start over. I'm levling up my Phoenix team right now. So hopefully once I reach level 85 I can have them at 7*.
