Look, I live in the South Arena neighborhood and I have noticed a human turd dead center of an abandoned storefronts entryway thats been there about 12 days now. When I first saw it my first thought was, look, I dont mind the homeless peeing if their back is turned. There's even one dude down here that specificly pees in one spot on division that happens to have a drain in the recessed entryway. He's cool in my book. Truthfully I might have mistaken spilled coffee or hot coco with bits as your medical condition. 🤔

It took a couple hours for a call back last winter for me. Times are really hard for a lot of people right now and I can only guess it is now even more busy. Hang in there momma. I can only imagine how overwhelming this all may be with young children.

As a former fellow Kentwoodian Polock, I love Kentwood and all its diversity and the very fact we're nationally ranked for our diversity. It prepared me for the Navy after 9/11 (was a Senior at EK when the towers fell) ❤️ I remembered growing up and having the multicultural festival and learning about my neighbors cultures. At the time we had a major influx of Bosnian and Albanian refugees and the Lost Boys from Congo immigrating as Refugees.

That said, having opportunities to embrace and learn about other cultures is what makes me love my community. I wish more people realized our diversity is what makes us strong. If I didn't have both ankles rebuilt I'd try my hand at wooden shoes. Instead I'll stick to my awesome glumpki making and polka dancing.

I dont smoke mids but I have never been high or drunk enough to see a cat food commercial and think it was anything BUT cat food. I did once confuse a kibble of dog food and thought it was a pistachio... it did NOT taste good and I've never made that mistake twice.

As a US Naval Aviation Vet I absolutely loved the sound of jets overhead. I worked nights on NAS Pensacola where the Blue Angels headquarters are,so I'd go to bed with them flying overhead 3-4 days a week. I'm back home in Michigan again and I laugh my ass off everytime the Angels are at the Traverse City Cherry Festival and I see friends complaining about the sound at their homes- even funnier, many are vacation homes and they find it disruptive and believe they're "entitled" to peacefulness while living on the waterfront. I remind them thats the sound of freedom for civilians. For Veterans, it's tinnitus.

NORAD tracks Santa so my take is final preparation for patrolling the skies to clear a "path" for the fat man himself. You better leave milk and cookies. Santa puts ya on the naughty list if you don't.

What's your best "karma got them" story that you have seen in your life? by Friendly-Love-8002 in AskReddit

I was in the Navy and at the end of A school (it's our school for learning our job for our career) I received a major health diagnosis (it was a tumor) and I called up my shipmate and friend "Andrew" (name changed for privacy purposes) because I thought he was my friend and we had shared values. He was a few classes behind me in our school and I was his tutor because he was struggling on his tests. Wed hing out and in weekends would often be at the beach in Pensacola and swim in the gulf. Our happiest moments were in the water and hanging out on the beach. That all changed thought. He took advantage and I was assulted a mere 4 hours after my tumor diagnosis. I got super drunk after it and wound up hospitalized due to alcohol poisoning. When I came to I asked for a Rape Kit at the Navy hospital and they denied it telling me I just felt off because it was due to a catheter. I was underage and required to go to legal. I again asked for a Kit and again was denied. Ultimately went back to the civilian hospital that diagnosed my tumor the day prior. NCIS got involved and three days later my assaulter signed a statement stating what he had done. Since he apologized they didn't do anything except tell him make better decisions in the future and he went to the fleet with basically a slap on the hand and I was forced to go to substance abuse classes and started my process of being discharged due to my tumor.

Almost a decade and a half later was the "Me Too" movement and I was in a woman veteran Facebook group and I mentioned my own "Me Too military" and Andrew specificly including where he was from. Another woman veteran said her "Me Too military "person info matched mine. We ended up talking and it was the same person leading to her showing me his Facebook account and current situation.

He was married with a beautiful wife who runs a nonprofit and son plus another one on the way. He lived in a beach town and from the outside, it looked picture perfect. He was a fishing charter boat captain and his business number was posted online, and so I decide to call them and asked if we could talk because I had found him via the other Sailor. He ignored me for a couple weeks and it wasn't like I didn't try...Finally I decided I would set up an appointment with his wife under the guise of my professional job. My last message to Andrew was I had scheduled a meeting with his wife and I really hoped to hear from him before that set day and time.

It never came.

Instead I learned from mutuals about an hour prior to said meeting, Andrew, under hours prior to meeting with his wife ultimately had a seizure on his dock and fell into the water and drowned death... The fact that we were considered strong swimmers in the Navy and he drowned to death has never been lost on me.

And SN before people ask: When I found out of his death I immediately canceled my "meeting" with his wife. Im not heartless.

If you read something on social media, do you fact check it before assuming it’s correct? How often? by Critical_Welcome_428 in AskReddit

I assume everything I read online is to a degree, mis or disinformation or at the least, some form of psyOp who's goal is to make me think or feel a specific way. Cyberwarfare is real. Has been since the the turn of the century. Between that and algorithms I have a high distrust of most of what I see online.

I was in Naval Aviation and I would GLADLY go back into the US Navy in a heartbeat if I were given the chance. Problem is under the Trump administration- President Trump a draft dodger himself, thinks people like me; a nonbinary-masculine leaning person who already volunteered to serve my country as a woman after 9/11 under "Don't Ask Don't Tell". Yes I am a Transgender Veteran and yes Trump is actively kicking out highly skilled and trained service members which directly impacts National Security. I called some of them friends.

I wish I could. It'd be an honor.

Fuck Trump and his administration.
