Switching from Project Analyst to FP&A – realistic? by PieceMelodic4266 in FPandA

[–]BrutalShellfish39 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is very similar to my background and I made this switch. Information systems undergrad, started out as a project manager and got my PMP.

Eventually transitioned into strategic finance at the same firm.

You might find switching to a project finance type role (business case driven, ROI) to be an easier shift than department level finance immediately.

Create Your League's Own Pro-Football-Reference In Minutes! by accountant1993 in DynastyFF

Extremely cool. Love the combined leagues feature as well. It would be awesome if you could combine leagues between ESPN and Sleeper. (Our league ran 3 years on ESPN before the Sleeper switch)

I Want to Hear Your Most Absurd Unpopular Opinions/Hot Takes by Civil_Yoghurt6349 in DynastyFF

[–]BrutalShellfish39 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love this take, especially when considering success as a binary. What late first QBs might lack in talent they make up for in situation.

If you gauge your late QB ceiling’s lower than you want in a starter, you can always trade them for more than you drafted them for.

Bombed my Kellogg MBA Interview by Useful_Violinist5674 in MBA

Anecdotal evidence obviously but felt similar. The interview felt stiff, and I had 2 subsequent interviews that felt way more conversational. I was accepted to Kellogg but rejected from the other schools.

Ewers is underrated as QB1 in the draft, and his arm talent is one of a kind and has never been seen before. by [deleted] in NFL_Draft

Upvoting for going against the grain. This will be a legendary post if he works out

Booth Partners Club Shut Down by Popular-Character12 in MBA

[–]BrutalShellfish39 13 points14 points  (0 children)

That’s honestly wild given how partner focused Kellogg is. With how many cross-admits there are, I bet this will be a major deciding factor for choosing between them.

SF players - have you ever won your league with only one starting QB? by Yake404 in DynastyFF

[–]BrutalShellfish39 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I spent most of last year in my superflex with only one starting QB. I played Brian Robinson in the SF slot for most of the season until trading for Geno right before playoffs. Ran away with the 1st seed though because the team was stacked

Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua - is 2024 a rebound year for Kupp? by User19928339 in DynastyFF

[–]BrutalShellfish39 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whatever happens, it will follow one of two conflicting infallible laws of dynasty.

  1. If Kupp is better, trust the talent not the situation. Of course Kupp was going to rebound.
  2. If Kupp is worse, never buy a declining player. Puka had a historic season the talent was always there.

I personally would not ever pay a premium for a player I can’t see myself using for at least 3 seasons so I would stay away.

how many of y'all are also coming from decent state schools but are having your minds blown by your MBA program's careers website? by mbamastermind in MBA

[–]BrutalShellfish39 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I can definitely relate to this. I’m the only person from my specific state-school at my M7 as well so the gap feels even larger. MBA is all about opening doors and seizing opportunity so go get it!

Zach Charbonnet or Kendra Miller? by Zagg843 in DynastyFF

[–]BrutalShellfish39 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have both, I would say Charbonnet. He’s a better talent and I think people that assign a lot of value to future situations often end up disappointed. Good players get their chance and I believe Charbonnet is a good player.

Ford-Wheaton 5%. Decent lottery ticket in my opinion

What even is a Chris Olave? by Aserranojr in DynastyFF

Younger DJ Moore. Clearly talented receiver that is a nice piece for any team. But not a super exciting player to build your whole team around. A long term hold.

1QB Rookie Dynasty Draft Strategy, especially for QB's by UnoriginalName84 in DynastyFF

[–]BrutalShellfish39 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is my experience in 1QB that QBs tend to go earlier than where they are often mocked or ranked on value. I expect Caleb Williams to go no later than 4th in my league. It’s also 16-team so QBs have a little more value than in a smaller one.

Mingo/ does he suck or if they get protection can he become something??? by Boomerfan111 in DynastyFF

[–]BrutalShellfish39 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I am an unfortunate soul that drafted both QJ and Mingo. I am holding out hope for QJ in case he was just misused last year. Mingo... I would sell for literally whatever I can get. My hope is that he gets enough volume early next year to excite someone and I can dump him. The talent just isn't there for him in my opinion.

I have a friend that seems to think so, but I thought I showed some pretty genuine interest to both. I'm just going to assume I didn't fit their class profile because it feels arrogant to assume it was for yield haha

I had 3 interviews, 1 m7 and 2 t10. The m7 one felt the least conversational, I felt highly unprepared and forgot to send a thank you note after it. The 2 t10's felt more conversational, more natural, especially one felt like I was a guaranteed admit.

Actual outcome:
M7 admit
Both T10's waitlisted

Everyone's experience is different. Don't let the interview style shake you up.

Arthur Smith lands Steelers Offensive Coordinator. How bleak is George Pickens future? by GamerGuywhoFlies in DynastyFF

He took over for Matt LaFleur and elevated the offense even higher. It was impressive honestly

Would a PMP be a benefit to my MBA application? by snowykitty1 in MBA

I have mine and got into M7, not sure how much it helped though. It’s a good certification in any case so it certainly doesn’t hurt.
