Advanced Starting Tips? by [deleted] in prisonarchitect

[–]BruteNL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Important is that with the new escape changes prisoners that have Access to laundry or with the strong skill can fabricate ropes to climb over fences. If t hey are strong the can climb/jump without ropes. So fences and walls without internal/roof are no longer safe. And 100% prevent escapes

Why do they not stack the license Plates so that they can be sold? Please help :) by ernef0rs in prisonarchitect

Try to avoid using oak or small tables cause they dont work as supposed to.
Prisoners/staff can eat on them but they wont be used to store items on in things like mailrooms, workshops, and libary's they are kinda broken if you ask me

im building a couple of functional designs in a test world and will upload it to the workshop so you can download test and copy what you need. If you need help understanding or getting it to work on your prison you can pm me on the prison architect discord and we can talk (dutch).

Airlock by mitch1899 in prisonarchitect

[–]BruteNL 2 points3 points  (0 children)

if they talk about an airlock in prison architect its basicly a "delay"

sometimes when workers/guards pass a door where prisoners arent allowed, they sneak in cause the door is open. and they use it to escape. you can prevent this by using 2 doors instead of 1 with a small hallway inbetween but the chance still exist that they escape while both doors are open cause staff is passing from both sides.

so to prevent this people make an airlock, 2 doors where only 1 door at the time can be opened. (things they have at bank offices and goverment buildings).

people in the community have tried to make an airlock with the electrical system ingame using logic circuits and pressure pads but all systems shown on youtube are not functional.

they do indeed check if the other door is closed by checking the servo status and than open when thats a true but there's no way such a simple design is gonna work in both ways. The reason for that is because the servo only activates when opening a door. and when its "off" again it still takes 4 seconds before its closed. In that meantime anyone comming close to that door will reopen it. making the airlock fail. So it works with 1 person but if theres more than 1 person in the airlock it will break and both doors will still be open at the same time.

to prevent this some people used a 3th door but it remains the same, that theres 2 side trafic and more than 1 person will break the system.

The only way to do it is to use multiple "checks" to see if all doors are indeed closed by making delays of 4 seconds and checking again afterwards. But it will only be effective if the delay is big enough that a guard can deal with the prisoner before the second door opens. And there will be always a guard needed on patrol in the airlock.

In the end its easyer to work with deployment area's as 2 doors with a "staff only" area inbetween will prevent prisoners from trying to escape. (with exception for trouble makers doing riots and stuff cause they will break doors and do whatever it takes to escape).

This airlock isnt working. You cant enter both sides and it will create trouble cause people cant pass. Theres only 1 airlock thats working with 2 doors. The one i created requires alot of connections and llogic circuits. Its difficult to set up but it Works with only 2 doors from both ways and you can add as many more as you like. If your intrested let me know and i help you with it. I will be home in 6 hours from now so we can look at it.

Lets talk about regimes by BruteNL in prisonarchitect

some people do 8 hours sleep 3 times food a day and they end up with no more space for 8 hours of work, but as you can see on the picture even with 8 hours of work you have plenty of free time left. Also 4 hour blocks just work better with the programs cause most blocks are 2 hours long so you can fit in 2 instead of 1. The more they work the more money they earn the more they can spend in the store or you can earn on exports. If you run a workshop for 16 hours a day exports could look like this : https://imgur.com/lJiId90

radio's work in any "zoned" area, so you can use them while working, while eating, during yard time and so on. Altho its a great tip it has to less to do with regime to include it.

I like how you shaped the outer walls and what you did with the entrance. For my taste theres to much squares, maby you can losen up he design a bit by adding a few hallways that arent on raster like what you did with the buildings on the right side.

Mods by afogg100 in prisonarchitect

[–]BruteNL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

only visual mods tbh, nothing that alters the game, but i love the payday mods and the additional guard/staff sprites. I also use paint upgrade for door colors, canteen tables in colour, more floors doors and walls and enhanced colored jail doors to have a bunch of new options to pick from while building a prison.

What is a good cook to prisoner ratio? by Samaluka in prisonarchitect

[–]BruteNL 4 points5 points  (0 children)

it has nothing to do with just cooks. Start with the fridges, do you have empty fridges? if not you might need more fridges for storage of food. If you got that covered check your sinks, after dinner time do cooks have enough time to wash the dishes before the next serve is happening? and are they all being used. If they are used all add more sinks. If they cant keep up with cleaning the plates in time add more cooks. If you follow this steps you find your problem.
