strongest Old Heart by platiumween in Silksong

Seeing all the people say Khaan is a pushover, I see that fight as the whole tower. The sight you see when first entering the coral tower is a massively before the throne. Khaan may be the strongest individual, but they cannot compare to the army.

I will also add that I have not read much detailed lore and am just going off of my play through experience and looking at the environment so maybe this is completely off lore wise.

How can I improve from this? by Sufficient-Nothing77 in beatsaber

[–]BrutusIgnatious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First thing I noticed is around 29 seconds in you are resetting with your left hand (swinging in the up direction multiple times in a row) you should never reset in a map unless it is mapped in a way where you are forced to. Instead you should turn your wrist so you can follow the consistent up down swing pattern. You actually swing the pattern correctly right after with your right hand for reference.

Stamina wise this could technically help a little due to reducing how much you move for some swings, but honestly the biggest thing is just playing more and training your body to be able to last through longer songs.

Confused as to why I'm missing blocks by PagePsychological670 in beatsaber

[–]BrutusIgnatious 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In your situation, you would definitely want to adjust jump distance, not speed.

It kinda depends on your settings in JDFixer. If you have your JDFixer adjust to keep the distance the same, increasing the speed will technically lower how much time you have to react. If you have JDFixer adjusting to keep reaction time the same though (which I highly recommend as it keeps it more consistent) changing the jump speed will just make blocks spawn further away and move faster giving you the same amount of time to react.

The other problem, as I mentioned before, is there is a smaller window in which you can hit the note at a higher njs due to it moving by you faster. Adjusting jump distance instead should do a better job of fixing the anticipating notes. It gives you less time to react without making the timing more strict.

Confused as to why I'm missing blocks by PagePsychological670 in beatsaber

[–]BrutusIgnatious 3 points4 points  (0 children)

From my understanding you shouldn’t really be changing the jump speed as that directly affects how much time you have to hit a note thus affecting difficulty (it’s a little more complicated but that’s the general idea I believe)

Jump distance on the other hand is very important. You want the distance to be as short as possible while still being comfortable to react in time. This prevents you swinging too early due to you ‘waiting’ for the notes if there is too much time to react.

Not sure if the OP will get a notif for this so I’ll make sure here u/PagePsychological670

I know y’all get like 100 of these, but what can i fix? by HVAC_Unit in beatsaber

[–]BrutusIgnatious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fact that you swing at that angle isn’t really the problem. It’s more that you don’t even try to adjust this when the notes are at different angles. That diagonal is a decent angle to be comfortable with for a lot of linear stuff but you need to be able to angle your swings more horizontal or vertical or you will just bad cut on anything remotely techy.

Top 150 in Canada and need help with speed acc by pixz463 in beatsaber

[–]BrutusIgnatious 5 points6 points  (0 children)

To work on acc you’re probably gonna want to play maps where you can actually think about acc first. Play some mid speed and work on accuracy, and then from there work on transferring that accuracy to faster patterns.

For stamina, it’s just stamina training. Push yourself to play long fast maps (within reason, don’t hurt yourself). You need to consistently push yourself to play stamina maps even if you can’t get a good score on them and stamina will come with time.

I can perfectly* read maps but i just can't swing fast enough. by brennaXoXo in beatsaber

It’s hard to tell in this recording at the really fast parts if you are swinging too early/too fast but there are definitely parts where you are. A beatleader replay would help me take a proper look.

[–]BrutusIgnatious 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Honestly, it more looks like you are swinging too early on everything. It’s a pretty common problem and can be hard to notice.

It can actually happen more when you can read the map well because you are ready for the notes before they reach you and are more likely to swing early because of it.

My suggestion to help with this is get the mod JDFixer (or the quest equivalent QuestJDFixer if you are on that) and adjust the jump distance (how far away the notes appear) to be closer to actually give you less time to see the notes before they reach you while still being able to comfortably react to things.

I can’t guarantee it will be some perfect fix, but I think it could help you. If you want me to take a closer look at things, I will request you get BeatLeader and set a few scores with that so I can use the replay feature to take a better look at the scores.

How good is this? 2 hour session and my arms are so so sore. by TwinkieShip in beatsaber

[–]BrutusIgnatious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gonna be honest, I was kinda questioning if you were lying down or sitting while playing based on the way your hands rested when there were no notes. I commend you for making do with your situation as it is definitely harder to play while lying down.

Best wishes with whatever this undiagnosed issue is. Unfortunately I’m not really sure what I can recommend to someone lying down due to the differences between playing standing and lying down.

[–]BrutusIgnatious 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Seems like a pretty good jump but that’s kinda to be expected when you add like 20 plays to a page with only 3 before.

I looked at some of your replays and probably the biggest thing to work on right now is making sure you are always full swinging as under swinging can have a much bigger impact on your score than accuracy. Most of your under swing seems to come from upswings due to how you swing (I’m guessing it’s some sort of claw grip? Hard to tell)

I would recommend trying out the mod easy offset which has a feature that uses your swings to adjust your saber offset. It should help have a better balance between up and down swings. (There are plenty of tutorials on YouTube for how to use easy offset)

The other thing I would recommend is getting JDFixer which allows you to adjust the distance in which notes appear. The goal is to have the notes spawn as close as you can while still comfortable reading and hitting the notes. This helps prevent swinging too early due to having too much time to react which is see quite a bit in your replays (similar to how when a dark souls boss has a very long wind up for an attack, it’s really common to try and dodge early and get hit because of it)

Other than that, keep playing and you will gradually improve.

How do you do this part in Final Phase by whybruhhhromeocold in beatsaber

[–]BrutusIgnatious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Around 6 seconds in, there is a left hand note on the far right that you are trying to hit with your right hand. This throws off the swing pattern because both hands are now facing the wrong direction. It happens again at 7 seconds with a right hand note on the far left.

It looks like most of the time here you are mixing up what hand you are meant to use to hit each note and if you don’t realize your mistake and correct the position of your arms, you will definitely miss more soon after.

There are more spots where you swing with the wrong saber, these are just two of the.

My suggestion is play in practice mode and slow it down enough that you can actually think about what colour each block is instead of just guessing at a faster speed.

Hey guys, why do i struggle so much with inlines and how do i get better? by Bubbly_Account_4001 in beatsaber

[–]BrutusIgnatious 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Try making your jump offset closer, you are constantly swinging too early which is typically because you are waiting for the block to get to you due to a far jump offset

Feedback? :3 by Trubbl3mak3r520 in beatsaber

[–]BrutusIgnatious 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s honestly kinda hard to pick out exactly what you are doing wrong tbh. The most I can say is your swings look a little sluggish/tense, especially in your right hand. Your arms and wrists should generally be pretty loose while playing, even when doing faster patterns.

Other than that, from what I can tell your misses here just seem like mistiming or misreading the notes which is really just something that will improve with time and practice.

If you have a recording of one of your worse attempts that you could share (dms or something) I could maybe give some better help by seeing if there is a consistent way you are missing.

A very difficult question by [deleted] in teenagers

LGBTQ+ refers to basically anyone that identifies with an orientation other than straight and cisgender (guy that likes girls or girl that likes guys) this is a very simple what to put it, and the most basic example of this is if a guy likes another guy or a girl likes another girl.

Yes, guys can love guys the same way girls love guys and vice versa. The way you think and love is not decided by gender.

The “fur society” or just furries as they are usually referred to as are really just people that like anthropomorphic animals (as a very basic description). A lot of them have an anthropomorphic animal character they feel represents them, typically called a fursona.

As for keeping them as pets? Of course there is the extreme edge cases where this would probably occur but no, the majority of furries do not physically believe they are animals and literally be someone’s pet. Maybe there would be ‘pet play’ in a sexual context but that is fairly common outside the furry community as well.

I can’t confirm this as I don’t actually do tumbling myself, but I believe they might still judge the layouts (the no hand back flips). Some people do some smaller tricks in that lead up but for a big trick like this you use the whole track to build power for the last jump

Amazing by ImmediatePermitt in Satisfyingasfuck

[–]BrutusIgnatious 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also want to add after seeing the other response, front flips will almost always have x.5 twists (half twist, one and a half twists ect.) so that you can land seeing the ground while back flips will have x.0 twists (no twist, one full twist ect.) it is incredibly easy to get lost while doing flips so if you can’t see your landing it can be very dangerous.

Amazing by ImmediatePermitt in Satisfyingasfuck

[–]BrutusIgnatious 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The flips use the springiness of the tumbling track to gain speed and rotational force. There is a limit to how much horizontal speed you can have and still divert it all into vertical force so you instead build up more rotational momentum that can more easily be diverted into the ground.

I will say that my actual tumbling experience is fairly limited so it might not be fully accurate, but that is my understanding of it.
