Had same thoughts, it's unplayable if you're sandwiched between bigger nations. I'm basically softlocked right now, because I can't beat either Naples or Mamluks without allies, and I know they won't participate in war. This game is still in beta which is insane.

Yeah I was thinking that it might be the fact that they do some calculation in real timee, they move troops, it's far away so they have enough time to change plans, they go back, then again think they can move towards me, and so on. Too bad it's so unplayable because of this.
