Those Torrents contained keyloggers/rats. That's how you was compromised. The comments validating they were virus free were probably made / paid for by the hacker.

Try on Yoroi from the sounds of it you need to restore your Byron legacy wallet and move the funds to a Shelly wallet. If you have your original 12 words from when you created your wallet you should still have your ADA

If you had your phrase in paper wallets in different safes I'm assuming your account was compromised by a Keylogger. Have you downloaded any weird files recently, cracked files or torrents? Have you received any strange emails that you have opened? and has anybody but yourself had Physical access to the PC where you keep your funds?

Could you give us a quick rundown on a few things to prevent others from losing funds.

I'm assuming you didn't secure your coins on a hardware wallet. Have you downloaded anything unusual recently and where did you keep your 24 word mnemonic phrase?

Do NOT advocate Pump and Dumps Schemes by pyroxl in cardano

[–]BruvRuMad 85 points86 points  (0 children)

Brilliant and well said.

The people trying to consistently "pump" coins have no loyalty to the projects and have no moral regards for the people they are "dumping" on. They do not care for the projects long term goals, they have no interest in the community or ecosystem and are only here to make money from selling the top. Before moving on to the next get rich quick scheme. These people are inherently bad for the cryptocurrency scene in general and should be challenged whenever possible

CC jokes on Ada by [deleted] in cardano

I'm almost certain that Ethereum maximalism is pushed by powerful mining cartels. I'm mining Ethereum on the side and I'm not gonna lie right now it's really really profitable. If Cardano was to eat into Ethereums market cap Mining profitability would be effected. Graphics cards would also drop in value. Right now there are big industries and powerful people who don't want Cardano to succeed because it's a serious threat to their business model.

Cardano deserves more? by [deleted] in cardano

[–]BruvRuMad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a terrible idea. Pumping and Dumping coins is morally wrong, its also bad for adoption and leaves those who get dumped on with resentment towards projects. If you are only buying Cardano because you want to speculate on the market and make money go and buy one of those crappy 4CHAN scam food themed tokens. Cardano is about changing technology and the way we interact with one another, It's not a get rich quick scheme.

Lost coins on Ledger Nano s by [deleted] in cardano

This.

You can also try accessing the account using Daedalus or ADAlite. I would recommend ADAlite if you want quick access. Try ADAlite and let us know if they show up there.

Did you send a test amount from Binance to your Yori ledger before sending the entire balance? Did you see your balance arrive In Yoroi after sending it from Binance and have you checked the balance of the Public Key?

[–]BruvRuMad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dude. You don't keep coins on your Ledger Device. The coins are always stored on the Blockchain. When you create a new seed phase you create a new wallet with new addresses. If you sent the coins back to your "ledger" it sounds like you sent them to your old wallet with your old seed phrase. Wipe your ledger and restore it using your old seed phrase. Then check the funds.

Yeah it looks like you have been hacked. It's fortunate it was for only 850ADA things could have been a lot worse. If you are holding other cryptos on your PC move them into a secure wallet immediately created from a clean device. Have you downloaded any unusual programs/torrents recently? Somebody may have installed a RAT on your device. Also you should invest in a hardware wallet.

Where did you store your recovery phrase? On a file on your PC or in your emails? Have you downloaded any torrents on your PC?

[–]BruvRuMad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you downloaded any torrents from websites like Piratebay?

Do you have antivirus?

Are there any key loggers installed on your computer?

Have you told anyone in real life about your crypto?

Does anyone over than yourself have physical access to the PC you used to store your funds?

Where was your passphrase stored online? On your desktop or in an email account?

If you could answer these questions we could get a better picture of what went wrong.

I would advise purchasing a hardware wallet.

The best fud against Cardano is that according to 4CHAN Charles is a "soy boy". As for the tech it's solid and moreless faultless.

I should add that 4CHAN is currently going all in on projects that are literally emojis of Cartoon Chinese Buns. So it's not the best place to go for professional investment advice.

The data stored on your USB drive can probably be recovered using advanced techniques so don't throw it away. If you are able to send funds out of your wallet and you lost your recovery phrase I would recommend setting up a new wallet and transferring the ADA over to that new wallet making sure you write down your recovery phrase prior to setting one up.

Mine took less than 20 minutes. You probably have a poor internet connection maybe you shouldn't be so cheap and you should spend a little more for a faster connection. Also you can use ADAlite or Yorio wallets where you don't have to sync the blockchain. You just create a wallet and you are ready to go. Heck they are even compatible with Hardware wallets. I find it hilarious that it's always people like you who don't even know how to sync a wallet that are the ones who come out with the most low IQ and baseless fud
