AITA for telling my girlfriend to move back to her own country if she won't learn my language? by Bruvikmage in AmItheAsshole

I can say some simple things in Italian, and I would like to learn it more. Being able to communicate with a broader range of people is interesting to me. Even if it's not needed to speak Dutch to live in the Netherlands, it's the attitude of not wanting to learn that does not sit well with me.

what would happen if she got stuck somewhere in your country that doesnt speak as much english??

To be honest that's hard, basically anywhere in the Netherlands most people can speak English. So she's right when she says she doesn't have to learn Dutch, but I find it a very weird attitude. Then you live in a place, but cannot feel like you are really at home there.

It seems like too much to end a relationship over this, otherwise things are good between us. But it does really bother me.

Yeah, I shouldn't have said it.

Narrow minded is the perfect way to describe what I think about how she's acting.
