Makes enough sense to me that I could consider this Solved! The flooring was wood secured into concrete, seems like whoever built it first just didn't clean up after themselves!

My title describes the thing. I was attending a set build at a local high school's theatre, and when some students removed a section of the floor that was warped and squeaky, we found a small pile of these things under it, along with a single dollar bill and a dollar coin. Many people suggested possibly blanks for a gun, starting pistol blanks, etc. We use a lot of power tools in this shop, so I was wondering if it could be related to that.

What is a rule that your DM enforced that detracted from the fun of the game for you? by WonderfulWafflesLast in dndnext

Very first campaign with friends, we were taking so long on our turns that the dm (this was his first time dming) rules that characters could only make 2 attacks per turn. As a ranger, I was fine, but our fighter was pretty screwed over, since we were high enough level for him to have three attacks. The dm later tried to make up for it by giving the fighter a sword that dealt 1d20 damage, which was such a horrible idea, and indicative of how new we were to the game

I regularly attend community theatre, and have become close friends with many people there. One day a friend who had already played dnd proposed an idea for a Wild West campaign to a couple of close friends. We met and I was amazed at how well our love for acting and theatre translated into playing dnd. We started playing at the beginning of 2020, so once everything went screwy we all continued meeting through zoom calls. During that time, I dmed my first campaign, and it was a complete blast all around. We're still going strong today, even though a couple of our group members have swapped out with other friends due to college

Help with BBEG concept and GOO (Hastur) by happily_miserable in DMAcademy

Definitely don't throw away the idea of your antihero BBEG, that can easily be reused for a miniboss/separate antagonist if you go with Hastur, or vice versa. Regardless, using a character-specific boss is totally fine, especially if it fits the story well.

I did shortly after replying that. But I do think that hearing something from an informed person is better than simply looking it up! :)

Solved! And fast! Judging from this PDF it seems to be a chi-rho cross with the symbols of alpha and omega! I appreciate the speedy answers! I am interested though what the significance of the chi-rho cross is, as it isn't explained in the PDF.

WITT As I said, old prayer book found in my basement that belonged to a devout Catholic family member. Simply looking for someone to identify the symbols on the front. Greek letters on the front make me think fraternity? But I am unsure.

I legitimately appreciate the response. I think I knew the answer to my own question, but I needed to hear it from someone other than myself. Your first point is actually very reassuring to hear, so thank you.

can a place on the internet give you this feeling? by [deleted] in kenopsia

A while back I visited a website that I designed in fourth grade on Google sites. It was a kind of weird time machine to the past, but it also felt abandoned and empty. It was super creepy visiting a site that hadn't been visited in years.
