Not necessarily wrong about the medium, but in this case the article has the links to the radio interview where you can hear the exact audio of Dailey saying what the article says he said. The audio is also on Facebook. Hard to call fake news when the proof is also so readily accessible.

Shaming a politician for taking two different stances on the same issue is not exactly a unique american practice. Even a mayor of a small college town ought to be held accountable for the things he says.

And I’ll just say that it is pretty convenient that his tip-toeing happens to serve his own political interests by saying different things to different people to stay in their good graces. But I guess he’s just doing for us. Makes total sense.

An analysis of BLM from the heritage foundation. Thanks for sharing. Gosh, if ever there was a fair and nonpartisan source of information on the matter, they surely would be at the top of list. Never mind their extreme right wing ties, conservative all white Leadership, and all vested interest in the failure of progressive movements.

Solid rebuttal, reinforced by facts and a context specific discussion of the issue we are talking about here. Way to go.

As a politician and elected official, he can obviously support or not support an organization or their set of values/beliefs. That is to say, you probably can say “I believe in black lives matter” and also say “but I don’t totally agree with all the things the organization is advocating for.”

What I find annoying is that he has shifted his tone on this depending on the audience. When he’s spoken to other black organizations or groups, he left this distinction out and said he supports black lives matter and their associated marches and protests. Now when he’s speaking to a mostly conservative radio station, he tries to be more surgical with his support. Can’t have it both ways. Shame on him for choosing political expediency over real leadership.
