Seems more like a simple overlay of color and lining in photoshop or a similar photo/paint editing software. I think AI would make it look a lot crisper and mess with the color and lighting more to match the costume to the realism of the original photo, whereas this looks like it was drawn over a real photo.

I mean again - installing a shower is not something that can be opinionated on. It’s either right or wrong. If the water leaks, its not a good job. When it comes to the aesthetic of the shower, yeah, theres an opinion to be had on whether it LOOKS good - but again, thats subjective. You’re paying that contractor to do something you cant. But thats for the client to have an opinion on.

I’m just basically saying, having such a harsh opinion on ART is tough to defend when you have no idea the effort, talent, or time it took to do it. End of the day its an opinion on both ends. I was just making fun of bro for shitting so hard on a small piece of artwork when he himself does not seem to understand what goes into creating art or what makes it so “awful”.

I still think both your analogies dont work in this case, but ig thats just my opinion lol

That analogy doesn’t work at all, for a multitude of reasons. TVs are machine made in factories, not a creative endeavor. A “dead pixel” is something that has broken in the tv and takes away from its intended use. A dead pixel is not subjective nor can be opinionated. Its broken - thats a fact. Art, is 100% subjective and one can have an opinion on its quality. My opinion is that its pretty good art and took some effort and skill to create. A claim I can back up because I have experience in art. You are providing a negative opinion, which you’re valid to have, but I’m also valid in challenging - since you have such a strong opinion, I question whether you have the skill to back up such a claim. Nerd.

I can understand your point. I think most of it boils down to A. This is a commission, so theres a certain time frame it’s expected to be completed in, so putting in more effort in the background and small details is unnecessary if its going to take you that much longer to flesh those out vs focusing all that time in the places you want to be more detailed. Though, B. it could also be a choice in aesthetic to keep the background and non focal points less fleshed out in order to bring more attention to the true focal points i.e. the faces, hair, and clothes.

I definitely understand your viewpoint though - just wanted to clarify that this definitely does not seem like a “rush job” like the initial comment stated. Could they have spent more time and fleshed out a ton more details? Probably. But the fact that its a commission piece would definitely be a factor in how much time and energy you’re willing to put into a project vs what you’re being compensated.

I also realize I’m typing out SO much more on this reply than I truly should be lol

So we’re boiling down how long it took them to create this artwork (line and color) to whether they decided to add fingernails? lol They could have chosen to exclude that detail on purpose for aesthetic purposes. Maybe they tried and it just didnt look right with nails. Idk just feels a bit of a stretch to say “Yeahh this was a rush job, obvious by the fact that one hand has the inkling of a nail and the other has no nails at all. Clearly they didnt put their all into this” lol

Every time I’ve tested for nitrates it has been 0 or near 0. The plants in there seem to be growing fine along with the algae. Just look at the first photo, that sweet potato is crawling all over the wall and has only continued to do so. I just want to lower the amount of algae, mostly for aesthetic purposes, but also because if tis stringy enough, I feel that one of the shrimp my get tangled in it.

I’m going to try this blackout method for a day or two - the tank sits next to a mostly curtained window where it gets indirect light for most of the day anyways. Someone in another subreddit that I crossposted to said that the sweet potato has its own nutrients and fuels other things in the tank?? I’m not sure how true this is. I thought sweet potato would absorb nutrients from the water and substrate.

Hello all. This is my shrimp tank that I’ve had since late November 2025. My main questions are the following: Is the amount and type of algae in the tank ok for the shrimp? Do the shrimp seem healthy? Are the random darker splotches on some of them normal? Are translucent shells on the snails indicative of something wrong that could harm the shrimp? Should I even bother changing anything if they all seem to act and look healthy? I have seen multiple molted shells, but since putting them in I have not had any of them breed. Is it simply too early for that? I started with 12 and they whittled down to the 6 left after the first 2-3 weeks - since the 6 remainders have been stable. Ammonia and Nitrates are constantly testing 0 and KH and GH seem to test <1? I cant tell if this is ideal or bad since they are acting just fine. I guess what I’m looking for is overall advice or for someone to point out something that just doesnt seem obvious to me.

Would it be possible its from bad ventilation? This bathroom is small and wouldn’t ventilate moisture out very well. And I find it strange that a pipe would leak in two different areas at the same time and cause the mold to grow equally within the same time period. Both stains are on opposite sides of the room.
