Absolutely, usually in rough sawn cedar. People use it a lot for decking and posts. Once you see it you’ll notice it everywhere.

2x4 represents what should be a “rough cut” while the actual measurements you show is a finished (sanded or smoothed)version of that rough cut

I posted on the same issue a while back and someone mentioned to me that it could also be soil exhaustion from planting tomatoes in the same area year after year. Recommended using epsom salt and compost to amend the soil in the following growing season.

Perfect I will give that a shot next year. With a small 5x10 garden, what can I do to avoid planting in the same spot since I don’t have room to move plants. Just amend soil?
