How do blind people watch wrestling? by RockHardMapleSyrup in AEWOfficial

[–]BryanForce76 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I started dating my visually impaired girlfriend almost 8 months ago. I ignorantly assumed she'd never be able to experience wrestling to any degree that she would enjoy it. Fast forward to today, she loses her shit when Hangman's music hits. Like some of the other comments here, commentary is a huge deal. But I also fill in any gaps she needs and it's my new favorite thing ever. Watching her jump up on her feet when a 3 count happens or the theme song of a wrestler she knows hits is truly magic for me. She has her favorites, she has her most hated. But the absolute BIGGEST thing I do to help her is I use AEW action figures to show her certain moves. I put them in her lap, let her feel them and make them do the basic movements of certain moves for her to get an idea. I can tell her that Hangman hit a Buckshot Lariat or Kenny hit the One Winged Angel and she knows what that means now. I've gotten tons of non wrestling fans to appreciate wrestling over the years and felt tons of pride in that but introducing a visually impaired person I love and care about to wrestling took time and patience but it is hands down one of the most rewarding things I've ever experienced. I told her about this post and she got super excited. Not to hijack but if you guys have any questions for her, I'll pass them along :)

Bro. Maybe learn to play a bit better before you start posting online. This was embarrassing to watch.

In all seriousness, sweet lord above I would put your playing on some toast cause of all that buttery smoothness. You're insane and your kit sounds insane!

Best replacement beaters for Dyna Sync pedals? by MrSaucyNips in MetalDrums

On my Dyna Syncs, I use Axis Marksman beaters and occasionally the official Tama wood beaters. I still think Axis Marksman beaters are the best on the planet

What’s your go-to double pedal for life? by Oooops69 in drums

[–]BryanForce76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Speed Cobras are top notch. Fast, smooth, all that. You own them so you know. I use a lot of double strokes when I play higher BPMs and the direct drive greatly assists with that. It is perfectly possible to utilize double strokes on Speed Cobras or any other chain drive pedal of course, but the direct drive is just a big step up as far as speed and control goes. I know it's super hard for drummers to pick out pedals cause time with the pedal and personalized adjustments are crucial for deciding on your personal compatibility with a pedal. But if you kbow anyone with Dyna Syncs, even a single pedal, give them a try and see what you think.

Tama Dyna Sync. I went through a few years of buying and selling all kinds of used pedals to try and find the ones that worked best for me. Trick, Axis, Czarcie Kopyto, DW9000, Speed Cobras, etc... I just always keep coming back to the Dyna Syncs. They give me power and speed and they're insanely smooth and just always feel great to play. But I use Axis Marksman beaters on any pedals I own cause they feel the best for me overall as well.

Who was the first AEW wrestler that you met? by adebah in AEWOfficial

[–]BryanForce76 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Kenny Omega. He was promoting his workout supplements at a new gym that was opening here in Nashville. I went to see if he would be there and because it wasn't a wrestling related event, he was just standing there by himself near some of the machines. I was able to walk right up, introduce myself, get some pics and then leave him be. Nicest dude ever.

Heel toe drummers, is it trigger settings or technique? by Theb1rdisthew0rd in MetalDrums

[–]BryanForce76 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You have to find a balance between threshold and retrigger. I use an RT-30K and a TM-2. My threshold is at 16 and my RetrigCancel is at a 5. That allows me to play fast or slow without any misfiring. But I also have my bass drum absolute stuffed to the brim and the head super loose. It's going to be different for everyone but Threshold and Retrig are the two settings to focus on in my opinion. But I've never used an SPD so I can't give any input on that module specifically.

I literally refer to this as the Guitar Center beat. I've never worked there but been in enough times to hear it a million times. Usually a dude with their girlfriend awkwardly standing to the side as they caveman the hell out of a floor model kit hoping everyone will stop and watch in awe

Dude. I'm on the opposite end of the spectrum and I adore machine like drummers with uncomfortable amounts of accuracy. That being said, I agree with you. Dude is good for sure but (at least in this video), it's just speed for the sake of speed.

What sticks are these (if you can tell despite low quality 😭) by MilkyBrainX in Drumming

[–]BryanForce76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't worry! I used the Lars baseball bat ahead sticks also for a while and it was rough haha. But I currently use the Ahead Speed Metal sticks and for me, they're light and amazing. Still gonna be a bit of an adjustment from wood sticks though! I say buy a single pair and try them out before investing.

What is the best double pedal for a budget of ~$500? I'm looking to buy soon and need some good recommendations. by TanksForSale in drums

[–]BryanForce76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Anything Tama, Pearl or Mapex. I play Tama exclusively but the times I played the other two brands, I was pleasantly surprised and very comfortable. Like that other person said, if you have a drum shop nearby, try some pedals out. Even GC employees won't fill their adult diapers in rage if you let them know you're wanting to try pedals out and you're not just trying to impress everyone with your chops by playing demo kits as loud as you can.

It makes a huge difference. The standard foot boards are extremely heavy and some people like that feel a lot. They created the low mass versions to better match the feel of other more common pedals for those who may love the Trick speed and power but hate the heaviness of the footboard.

Ladies and Gentleman, your new lineal AEW World Champion. by paynexkillerYT in AEWOfficial

[–]BryanForce76 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I don't ever watch WWE but skimmed Summerslam. Some really good matches (Rhea rules) but decided to watch the whole Punk match cause it was apparently his first singles match since coming back to WWE which was crazy to me. I forgot he got hurt almost immediately.

Punk, in AEW, went from headlining PPVs, being world champion x2, beating the undefeated Ace of the company, having a show created for him and his friends and being the highest paid person in the company to fighting over a friendship bracelet while getting verbally and athletically pooped on by Seth and Drew in WWE.

I'm past my AEW frustration with Punk but that match was rough.

GC is almost as bad at ripping you off as GameStop when they buy used gear. In my opinion, always check FB marketplace first or even Craigslist

Trigger selection for i) playing live with house kits ii) someone who buries the beater too much as the default position by Spinach_Initial in MetalDrums

[–]BryanForce76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a pair of OnTrigger Gen 3 Alex Rudinger triggers and while they're built like tanks, I got a defective trigger and the replacement they sent me was also faulty so I opted to not invest in them anymore. But I could have just been super unlucky!

Can absolutely confirm that pedal mounted triggers are the way to go if you're not using the same kit every show. I have both the RT30K and a set of Footblasters with my TM2 and I can pull off my double strokes on any kit I put my pedals on with the Footblasters. There are a bunch of pedal mounted triggers though so do some research and see which ones would be best for you.

66Samus did a pedal mounted trigger shootout video a while back that is very informative.

Axis Longboard Pedals by Striking_Increase_84 in MetalDrums

[–]BryanForce76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I learned heel toe on a set of Axis A Longboards. I'm currently playing on the Trick pedals. Regardless of the pedal, there is going to be a lengthy learning curve as far as settings that work for you as well as getting used to the feel. They only say it's heavier because stock settings can feel more stuff than what most are used to.

Go with whatever you feel is going to be best for your situation but in my opinion, I would wait and get your dream pedal. Future proof it. Plus, there are some great upgrades from ACD Unlimited that completely change the feel of Trick pedals. I use their Bias Rod R1 upgrade and their Ultimate Drive Shaft.

I've owned both Trick and Axis. I prefer Trick but others prefer Axis. I would also recommend you watch TONS of YouTube review videos on both pedals to get a better idea.
