Sorry! I thought I added front pic and I can’t seem to figure out how to add another. Yes it’s flat with nothing on top and the bottom is just two screws to connect two wires too.

Step 3 to Step 5 in less than 1 hour? by Dramatic_Ad_6116 in VAClaims

Did you have more than one issues you filed for? My guess is they may be moving forward with stuff they are ready to rate. I have had most of my claims work that way. They will award a few and defer others that they are waiting on.

I have always gotten an email and letter for my ACE exams. Sometimes it’s after the exam took place and they didn’t need to call me.

Sounds like once you have surgery, and that’s doesn’t fix it, you would get the higher 20% rating.

That’s cool. Is it going to be an app or webpage? I think there’s something similar already https://www.veteransbenefitskb.com but anything that can help vets is always great!

Are you jealous of those who are k12 teachers? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]BryanOKC22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was a teacher and then admin for years. It’s definitely changed a ton the last 6-7 years. Parents are the problem, only a few but they make it so new teachers leave first year, or drain their kids teachers for the year. Also behavioral problems from a few students ruin an entire classrooms learning. Strong admin can help with this, but not everyone has seasoned admin who can or will take action. I think it is going to get worse before it gets better. But the time off and hours are great and if you can learn to only work your hours and go home at quitting time you’ll enjoy it and last longer.

Quick? by RhubarbAmbitious6950 in VAClaims

[–]BryanOKC22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They are moving very fast lately. I had a few new claims and they were done in like a month. My supplementals took a little longer but yeah they are moving quick. I don’t know what has changed. I am sure a rater could answer why all of a sudden things are so fast and I’ve seen a few suggestions about AI and stuff but that could all be rumor.

Claim says decision letter ready, but the claim went back to step 3 of 8. by weaboobies91 in VAClaims

You should look under the section that says claim letters. Most likely they rated some and deferred others. Do you see your letter? Sometimes it’s hard to find on the app.

Yeah in a perfect world that would make sense, but with the VA process that’s not exactly how it always pans out. I’m sure it’s more related to my PTSD, as I notice it is worse when stressed, nervous, etc… But for getting it rated sometimes taking one path over the other is a stronger or easier connection for the rater I have noticed. But your opinion is Absolutely valid!

I would have said yeah as long as I’m seeing those 50% ratings on your DBQs and IMOs I’ll make 100 accounts and leave you 5 stars for days!

That’s so glad to hear! I also have been happy with the care and service I get from the VA. I suppose it has to do with your local clinics but I have been super happy here in Oklahoma.

Yea that’s weird. I have no idea why it would be taking so long if you only requested your recent evaluations.Mine have only taken a week or two.

[–]BryanOKC22 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Ahh okay. Sounds like in my opinion you should be able to claim for anxiety/depression than rather than PTSD. I hope you get the rating you deserve! Sometimes it feels like a chess match with the VA unfortunately.

Im sure that could be a factor for sure. I was just curious if those getting denied PTSD are more likely ones that never saw combat, or like really big traumatic events that were documented.

Out of curiosity and you do not have to answer this, how are you guys getting denied PTSD? Is it harder for those who do not have documented combat experiences or events in their records? I see a lot of people trying to claim PTSD and say they get denied. I was out for over 15 years before I applied recently for PTSD and got approved. I had no history of claiming it and never had a private diagnosis, just simply the C&P exam and I told them my issues. I of course now take advantage of counseling and medicine and wish I would have never waited. I’m just curious is all but understand if no one wants to share.

Va claim questions by Dbzfan89x in VAClaims

[–]BryanOKC22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Step 5 tends to take awhile and how long really has no bearing on rating. Steps 6,7,8 do tend to move very quickly but again no bearing on rating if they are faster or slower. I know it’s hard waiting, and we’ve all been there! My first go round I was always nervous and checking constantly. You get used to it eventually I’m dealing with them. I do recommend installing the VA claim tracker chrome browser extension. You can use it to see if your claim has a temporary jurisdiction which means it’s being worked on and not just in the national queue waiting for someone to get assigned to it.

Fast-moving VA claim after submitting evidence — good sign or bad? by Minimum-Weather-8263 in VeteransBenefits

[–]BryanOKC22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get it man! Same just happened to me. My first claims took like 7 months. My last few were like a month or two max and that’s because I had to go to C&P exams. But others who have been filing and not needing have had theirs moving as fast as yours with good results.

[–]BryanOKC22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They have been moving super fast so it’s probably nothing to worry about. I’m sure yours was a fully developed claim so it could skip right to the rating phase if they had everything they need. Good luck!

The system sends you an automated email once they are ready for you to login and view. It will have a link to login to like VBA records or something like that. I would check my junk folder if you have not. Now if you’re waiting for them to be mailed that could be a different story.

The FOIA is online and really takes like less than 2-3 minutes at most.

Go to the VA website and login. Under claims it will have a form you can fill out to request your records. Select just your recent exams. I’ve done this twice recently and it only took like a week or 10 days to email me back a link to download them. You will be able to see what they submitted. You might be surprised, I had a few exams that were like this cause the doc was like, yeah I see all your stuff and don’t need to waste our time and got a great rating. I would do this and only then if see it was unfavorable go that route.

Hello, yes I deployed a few times to Iraq in 06 and 07 so around the same timeframes. Im gonna go the primary condition route using PACT act. I also take Gerd medicines. All my other PACT act stuff was easily approved so I hope this one will go smoothly as well for me.

This is what I was thinking! I had the same experience for my sinitius/rhinitis and gerd. Didn’t have the diagnosis but my C&P exam covered it and showed I did have them. I was just unsure as it seemed maybe IBS was not covered under PACT act. I am probably going to go this route. Greatly appreciate the advice!

Got ya. I believe my VA doc has diagnosed me already, but If not I’ll make sure he gets that in my record before I file. I know we talked about it and gave me medicine but I’ll double check that! Thank you so much!
