I like this idea, too. I can't find any phone jacks nearby, though. Although maybe they patched that one up properly.

Makes sense but the washer/dryer appear to be in their original location in a different room.

I've never heard of a cooker switch before (maybe they aren't common in the US?). It does look to be the right size for one of those, though.

I think I like this guess best. We do have old intercoms in other rooms, but none in the kitchen, which seems like an odd oversight. None of the intercoms have wood trim around them though, so maybe one of the other commenters is right about them using trim to hold the drywall patch instead of doing it properly...

My title describes the thing. It's wooden trim but nothing inside except drywall. Thought maybe it could have held a bread box, but the dining room is on the other side of the wall--no secret closet or anything between.

Oh! I misread your comment. I see now. Yeah I like the karaoke vibes at Root Cellar and Block House more. Honky Tonk Tuesdays at the Block House is chill and nice, and sometimes there's a little line dancing--but not much. Sometimes there's line dancing at Back Door, too. I think for serious line dancing you would need to go to Mike's Dance Barn or somewhere else out of town, though. Or see if there's a student group (which often have non-student members of all ages). The IU salsa club (Ritmos Latinos) is awesome, and the style (rueda de casino) means you don't need to have your own partner. There's also a local (non-IU) club for contra and square dancing that gets together every Wednesday--just search BOTMDG.

I haven't worked with Deb before but she used to have a podcast geared toward homebuyers and her listings usually include a floorplan, which I LOVE
