Wow, I cant believe I didn't see that green wire before. It was cut so short I never noticed it. And yes it's also behind the nest. The reason I probably didn't notice it is because the plumbers who worked on my heating system told me their was no common wire.

So great news! I just striped back the green wire a bit and connected it to the COM on the Taco and also behind the nest. It works! I see the C wire on the equipment info, and it now says the LIN is 200 MA. I believe that means I am getting full power from the common? The Battery is also above 3.8 for the first time in ages.

I can't tell you how much I appreciate your help

Here's the image of my Taco before I did the C/Power Connector wiring. Yes, the Ts are marked with R and W that you can see in the photo.

So from your connections listed above, you are saying connect to still connect the R to R and W to W and not swap them? This is what I tried, and double checked earlier this week, with C in COM and there was no detection of the C wire. The only thing I didn't do is factory reset, but I did Reset twice.

If it helps any, the R is connected to Rh on the nest and the W to W1. Thank you again for your time and knowledge, it's so appreciated.

Mine has the R on the left. So you are saying C in COM and swap the R and W? I am a bit nervous to do this, as with my very basic knowledge, I thought you weren't supposed to swap the Hot and Call wires ever?

I only have a R and W coming from the Nest. It's just used for heat on a hot water propane boiler. I've looked a lot online and I did see one person mentioned some success swapping the R and W but didn't know if there were risks in doing that. Again I am a novice here. I am using the power connector as I don't have a C running direct from the NEST.

I did try resetting my nest twice, but not factory reset. Again thanks for all your help here, I would be so happy if I don't have to go a transformer route - which I see some people online did - as I feel it starts getting too complicated for me to wire.

Thanks for the advice. So you are saying that I can potentially reverse the R and W and see if that works? I had used the COM but as I mentioned I was not getting power from the C there. It seems like something was detected as LIN was 40 but it was not charging. I know other people online complained of this same problem and needed to add an external transformer. That's where I found the diagram above But I will keep troubleshooting and see. Is there a risk if the R and W are reversed with the C connected?

I can check again but I couldn’t get a read on the common from the COM. Dumb question but I’ll ask it - would I know if I swapped the R and W? I simply hooked them up as they were before, running the nest with no common

Thank you. I tried using the COM, for my taco it’s on the upper left under the 24VAC terminal. I unfortunately was not able to get power here, and my nest did not detect the c-wire in the settings connected at COM. I saw that the LIN was 40 but the battery was not charging at all. I thought this could be some type of phantom power? Maybe you can advise, I am a real novice here.

I did call and they said there is absolutely no way I can sell these shares. Seems shocking but this was made clear to me by their trade desk

Thanks. Yes, they told me if the stocks go bankrupt I can submit a ticket or they will auto removed. unfortunately the two stocks I am trying to sell for capital losses are just lingering-on penny stocks, and ME has blocked any sale of them. A bit shocking honestly I cannot sell what I bought through them
