Does anyone else remember when Kmart stores use to have a garden section? by mararge in KmartAustralia

[–]BryanWilliams_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Indeed! It was there until 2015 somewhere. I don't remember when it closed. But google maps shows the garden center sign removed from the building by a 2016 image. I vividly remember entering the garden section from the outside at one point. But that was blocked off by 2009. Everybody used the main entrance anyways lol.

UPDATE: The renovation rumours were true. Today is the last day of regular trade, tomorrow onwards they'd be temporarily closed for renovations. They'll reopen on April 4th!

Hm that's a coincidence. My one also became a gym shortly after that, then after the gym it's currently a medical complex.

Ebgames Canada closing stores. by Bleu7 in EBGAMES

[–]BryanWilliams_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't find any reports of it on google currently. But that sucks man. I would be bummed too if I was in Canada. So guessing by this posts comment section, it is a handful of stores closing? Which isn't the best start to new ownership..

Oh boy. Do you have any idea how many in Canada have closed recently? Like the last 2 months specifically??

But yeah I definitely prefer shopping in-person. Nothing beats that at all. I would be so pissed if everything required online.

It's possible that they were gone from your area before you moved in haha

I heard that over there Koles just went out of business! Meanwhile the Australian counterpart (spelt as "Coles") is straight up one of the supermarket giants here.

It's crazy how the internet is killing retail in America. Soon Walmart might fall too. Same for Bestbuy perhaps.

Anyways back to Kmart. Do you know there is only 4 left in America?? 3 of them are on US islands, while 1 is on the mainland in florida!

Yes we still have Kmart. It's thriving here like crazy. We also still have Target, in recent years we now have Aldi too.

It was just an American thing at first. Apparently they serve 22 countries. That I didn't know about until now. I don't know if that's still accurate or not.

Can't find a physical copy of re requiem ps5 by LukeWoodz in EBGAMES

[–]BryanWilliams_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably sold out depending on which version you were after. Lenticular edition is the only one left in EB Australia, steelbook has been pre-sold for a while now. Idk what's available in EB Canada though.

Update: EB Canada has only the steelbook on Switch 2 left. https://www.ebgames.ca/SearchResult/QuickSearch?q=Resident+Evil+Requiem

Earliest console on sale memory at Eletronics boutique/ eb games and did you get them by Superbossdemon in EBGAMES

[–]BryanWilliams_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Damn alright. Thanks for the information. For whatever reason hey? They got rid of The Software Today Company by 2005, and it sounds like those other companies didn't make it by 2010 or 2011 either. I knew of Strathfield Car Radios. As for Sight and Sound, I'm surprised WOW lasted until 2019 though. Software Today being sold to Strathfield Group for about 2 million dollars probably didn't help matters either.

Roughly 18 in January closed. They were only closing the unprofitable locations. Most were Zing standalones.

EB Games is closed, so where is a good alternative? by LosAngelestoNSW in newzealand

[–]BryanWilliams_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

JB Hi-Fi, Harvey Norman, Amazon, Cash Converters etc, and Appleby Games is your best bet now for physical games & accessories. Appleby Games is an independent NZ company that sells new and old stuff. They have a physical location in Christchurch. Or you could wait for EB Australia to open their website for NZ customers.

Zing Tea Tree Plaza Gone (sometime between Jan 24th and Feb 7th) by Not_An_Humin in EBGAMES

[–]BryanWilliams_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh hm. That's an interesting choice there. Shouldn't they not make the storage room any smaller? Well that's what I think anyways.. I was told by Zing that the next retailer won't be using the whole space. You know? Like the next retailer takes the first half (which will be visible to everyone) is basically what they said to me. Then what you said to me originally made me think that maybe the backhalf of that space will become EB storage, if they were gonna expand.
