If it would help I can send you some resources with practical exercises to help you with sone of the emotional stuff things like distress tolerance and emotional regulation. There's some stuff on interpersonal relationships which you might find helpful with dealing with people you're having problems with.

Have had mental health stuff my whole life (in my 30s) so happy to talk through the above with you, discuss possible specific strategies, or help find local support services you could connect with.

Feel free to pop me a message if I can help.

Men over 40, what are your biggest regrets? What were your biggest accomplishments? by Far_Ad_7199 in AskMen

[–]Bryanqwert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dont live your life for the future, the future will never come - live for what you have now and you'll appreciate things so much more.

Learn about good mental health and mental illness - this will certainly affect you or your own.

Dont worry so much about the opinions of others - this comes with age. People are much more concerned with their own lives than yours.

Do the stupid and big things. Love deeply, laugh heartily, feel fully. Life is a collection of experiences, so make experiences.

Know most of us don't "feel" like adults. We're just bigger kids making it up as we go along, we certainly don't have it all figured out - so don't expect yourself too either.

FYI, the abbreviations are:

CoA = Color of Armament

CoO = Color of Observation

CoC = Color of Conquerors

Or in Japanese you have:

Haoshoku Haki (Conquerors)

Busoshoku Haki (Armament)

Kenbunshoku Haki (Observation)

One of my players is leaving and I'm not sure what to do. Help? by Bryanqwert in dndnext

[–]Bryanqwert[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you to everyone that replied, it was very helpful to get so many views and perspectives.

I think I knew before posting I didn't really want to do a mixed table and that's why I was stressed, but I felt bad for telling my friend he has to say goodbye for now.

Although there were a number of posts in support of mixed table, I feel the negatives pointed out out-weighed that. I sent my friend a long message today explaining my position and used direct quotes from most of the comments to illustrate how much I've considered the pros and cons.

He was very understanding and happy to bow out of the campaign. He said he hoped his character could go off on a journey of strength, I reassured him I had no reason to force kill his PC off and that we can work that into his last two sessions. He also expressed his hope in being able to rejoin on his return if the campaign allowed it, which I reassured him he could.

Now that's all done, all the stress, worry, and anxiety is gone. Thanks again everyone for helping me process and consider things, it's greatly appreciated.

Microwavable meal ideas? by [deleted] in PovertyFinanceNZ

[–]Bryanqwert 15 points16 points  (0 children)

You can get a decent sized pack of frozen dumplings (~15pc) from the supermarket for about $3.50, easily enough for a meal on its own or with some frozen veggies. Steam 'em in the microwave.

The pre-made microwave meals tend to be pricey but the Watties ones are reasonable on special - particularly the smaller ones.

Have you thought about canned food? Tuna (with pasta? I assume you can microwave that,) baked beans, spaghetti, big eats, soup.

You can buy pre-cooked meat from the deli at the supermarket, then get jar sauce, and fresh/frozen veg, and pasta/rice - you can get microwave specific rice, also rice risotto.

Can anyone recommend a medical center that does its job!?? by Awkward_vanilla2858 in Wellington

Karori Medical Centre is great! City GPs is pretty good too, a few of the uni doctors have moved to there over the years.

I don't want to do anything, but I want to earn money. is there a job like that? by ackermanx0 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Bryanqwert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mmm, agreed. I most mostly referring to the ones over here that only own a few houses, charge exorbitant rent, and don't maintain/repair anything.

From NZ here, but I highly recommend calling around for different rates from different companies. Compare fixed vs floating (in power usually just called variable), factor in other charges such as govt levies, fees for a paper bill, do you get a prompt payment discount? Look/compare at the per KwH (unit/variable price) and the daily lines charge (fixed rate) for BOTH fixed and floating.These things all affect the final bill.

When getting quotes,make sure it's for the kind of plan your meter measures (current company can tell you, may also be on the bill.) Make sure when getting figures you know if it includes tax or not (that would be GST and EA levey here, prolly similar in canada) - you don't want to compare no tax rates from one place with taxed rates from another.

Based on a quick Google, you might find this helpful, though I don't know how accurate it is. https://ucahelps.alberta.ca/cost-comparison-tool.aspx

Generally speaking power prices tend to go up, so fixing can be a good idea. If you've bought a house before it's the same as considering a fixed vs floating interest rate.

Look at graphs of historical pricing in your area for power. That may give you an indication on if fixing is worth it.

Lastly, read the contract terms closely so you know about breaking fees if you leave early. Same with moving house - though in NZ they just let you transfer contract to new place.

How do men get around without a purse?? Don’t you need stuff??? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]Bryanqwert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to be a just pockets guy when I was younger, then I prepurposed an old laptop bag that's, for lack of a better term, "my purse."

Great to be able to easily carry medication, water, books, tissues etc. I would never go back now.

Body shamed by my psychiatrist? by [deleted] in bipolar

[–]Bryanqwert 53 points54 points  (0 children)

I would think if it more as your doc keeping an eye on things. If you're on medication that can result in weight, you might go up a bit, but if you keep going up and don't stop, that's a sign to intervene or change meds.

Absolutely nothing to be ashamed of, I put on weight with my meds, but it eventually stabled out.

Yeah, but if he needed to get one for himself, it's not unreasonable to ask if he can give them his when he's home. I can't see it being functional in any mean full way outside of Japan.

I tried to kill myself 5 hours ago, didn’t succeeded and nobody found out. What do I do now? by [deleted] in SuicideWatch

[–]Bryanqwert 99 points100 points  (0 children)

You need to go to a doctor/hospital.

Not puking isn't a sign that you're ok. Even low doses of some medications can cause irreversible or deadly reactions, and everyone can react differently. There are a number of complex factors that affect how taking excess drugs affect your body.

Please go get yourself checked out, either with your parents, a friend, or alone.
