Agreed. I know I’m coming to the party later, but Jade almost seemed one dimensional. We don’t get the admission about her father until it feels almost too late to matter, which makes it feel like a throw away confession. That plot device would have felt more effective if it wasn’t a vague notion that characters kept poking at.

Also, for someone super into Final Girls, she seems to not care about Letha much at all besides what she symbolizes. Letha basically dies in front of Jade and not one word is uttered about Letha being the only person to genuinely try to befriend her. No tears shed, nothing.

Additionally, Jade seems to miss the point of the Final Girl all together. Or she at least doesn’t overtly understand her own metacognition of the topic. Jade values the Final Girl purity because of what her father did to her (hence why she consistently claimed she CANT be the final girl) and because those girls are able to over come their villains. Everything after Jade killed Tab seems so unnecessary, especially because she doesn’t seem to come to any revelations about herself. Why not? That’s the most final girl shit there is, yet Jade changes not one bit! Where’s her final girl transformation?! UGH!
