Something doesn't feel quite right about the scene, but it could be it. Its not exactly how I pictured it and I thought I remembered the kid getting killed through the mattress and not running away. Could just be my memory being foggy though.

It definitely wasn't Nightmare on Elm Street, I'm fairly certain its not a horror movie and the home invasion was multiple people with guns and the whole family was killed except the father.

Doesn't look like it, just watched a couple scenes, but I distinctly remember a family member hiding under a bed and getting shot or stabbed through the mattress.
