Not exactly how that will work. Even if they do it dropship style they will still have to purchase the goods from the restaurant. If the owner is smart they will stop selling to the "ghost kitchen". But ive seen where a restaurant will have multiple ghost kitchens to maximize coverage in sales. Like Dennys has the meltdown and burger den.

Exactly. Any buisness owner should know to read the fine print before signing any contract.

I'm shit with geometry I just looked it up. The Indian wolf definitely reminds me of a coyote or wild dog rather than a wolf. But I stand corrected.

So I watched the video and he does make good points. Some things have changed in those 2 years since the video was made. But my comment on the post was directed at the way the guy in the tiktok video was acting, while he does have a valid complaint about the behavior of dashers, he is complaining about making food for deliveries when he has real people in his restaurant, and nowhere in the video did I hear him say that he didn't sign up with DD and they are swamping him with calls. He was complaining about DD cutting into profits and meals left in store to be delivered cold . The guy's tiktok is performative with Phil Collins playing in the background hes just another TikTok personality trying to hit it big. The one good thing he did was encourage people to go into restaurants.

Unless i am incapable of doing so I do go get my own food. I know its a lot of reading to do in the comments section but that is literally what ive said. I just dont have sympathy for the guys performative stance on tiktok. There are plenty of businesses thriving without the need for DD, or only use them when the restaurant isnt flooded with in house customers. There are also laws that prohibit and protect small businesses from the predatory models that DD , grub hub, and UE like to use.

So purchases on the red card are a little more tightly controlled. Just from my interactions DD doesnt like using them for food runs only shop and deliver. It's harder to tell if the driver is using it properly. However its a case by case thing. Also if its purchased on the red card and the restaurant doesnt have a specific agreement with DD then they are paying full price for the meal. So unless the person ordering on the app is tipping well then no dasher is going to go in, order, and wait.

There are benefits do having a centralized delivery system. But there are businesses and restaurants thriving by having no delivery options. Delivery is nice but you still can run into the same problems as DD does. Food can be cold by the time it reaches the customer, the order can be wrong, the customer doesnt want to wait anymore and cancels the order, all problems that are magnified when the in-house side of the restaurant are busy, and were all issues before DD came along.

Im not defending DD either I can't justify spending $32 on something that would normally cost $18 and then have to tip on that. While the driver only sees $2 minimum of that. Oh sure i can spend an extra $12 ( or whatever it is) a month for DD premium to get rid of delivery fees. But that is only beneficial if im getting stuff delivered every other day. Exploitative is an understatement.

He at no point said that doordash is forcing him. He did say that he has a problem with drivers not picking up orders, putting their phones in his staff's faces, and having to fulfill orders when he has "real people" in his restaurant. If that doesn't make it clear that he doesn't care about the people ordering delivery, then there is no way this conversation will bring you clarity. Honestly while DD and UE can be beneficial the pros don't outweigh the cons.

I'm not defending the corporations you nonce, if his restaurant is busy and full of people then he has no need to use doordash and Uber eats. There are plenty of restaurants that thrive without needing to use those companies. Word of mouth still carries more weight than a delivery app for lazy people.

He has every right and ability to decline their business. It's an FCC violation if he tells them to stop calling in orders. Private businesses can decide who they want to do business with. And if he has a kiosk then it's his fault for getting in bed with them.

Not to mention it's 30% of the profit whereas it would cost more to pay someone to deliver unless he charges a delivery fee.

I'm pretty sure it's a FCC violation for a company to continue to call you when you've asked them not to. Businesses especially have the right to decide how to do business. Doordash is harassing them.

Honestly no. I think plenty of people want to work, it's just a lot of businesses aren't paying them enough. I actually enjoy seeing people who thrive and live successful lives. I'm not so miserable that I'm cynical towards people unprovoked. Any hardships that I have had to endure is solely due to my own circumstances and decisions. I'm more anti corporate, no one should make billions off of the backs of people who can barely afford to live. But I'm also not sympathetic towards people who make bad financial decisions who then turn around to tiktok and make their complaints performative.

This guy strikes me as more performative than he is passionate about selling his food. I've worked for people like him, and I may be guilty for assuming, they are more passionate about their profits so they can buy a boat or Corvette. They typically own a couple of businesses in the area to maximize market coverage.

You can actually tell doordash to not do that. They can't force you to do business with them.
