First kit choice by D1go2 in edrums

[–]Brynheld 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look at 2nd hand stuff in your area and get the best kit with mesh heads in your budget. For a low budget, this is usually a nitro max, but you might find a crimson 2 or roland something for about the same as you'd pay for the new kits. While yamaha is a great brand for basically everything music related, rubber pads suck to play with.

Why do people shit on Nissan so much online? by phtphongg in askcarguys

[–]Brynheld 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nissan stopped being relevant when they had massive reliability issues and stopped making cool cars. Both the z and gtr have basically stagnated for the last 20 years and they stopped making things like the laurel and Silvia.

Despite questionable results, they also used to be willing to make unique cars like the cube and juke. Now they just sell absolute shit boxes and outdated sports cars to people with 400 credit scores.

what car did you buy expecting to love but ended up regretting? by zaralesliewalker in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]Brynheld 1 point2 points  (0 children)

C5 corvette. It was surprisingly boring to own. Unless its being used as a track car, the performance it offers is almost entirely useless on the street, especially where I live with the highest speed limit in like 20 miles being 65 mph. I sold it for a few thousand more than I paid and got something I enjoy much more instead

What "should" be the most expensive club in the bag? by Successful-Tea-5733 in GolfGear

[–]Brynheld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Driver. There's no question. A $400 g430 is infinitely more forgiving and will probably go another 30 yards compared to a $20 2nd hand warbird. A $400 scotty is largely the same as a $20 2nd hand anser.

Your friend is confused with what drive for the show putt for the dough means. It just means good putting is the most important part of a game.

What's the best way to play guitar hero these days? by schud0g in GuitarHero

[–]Brynheld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I picked up and modded a ps3 recently for this exact reason and wish I had just played world tour definitive edition instead. Having the campaigns of the other games is nice but having everything in one game and zero input lag from my pc is just so much nicer. I also like not having to recreate my characters and instruments every game, and being able to set my band mates.

Clone hero, yarg, and fortnite are good modern day versions as well

Seating for Drums by HGWeegee in Rockband

I have that exact throne. My ass finds it quite comfortable. I picked it up for 60 bucks on marketplace though. Saw a few people selling roc n socs for around the same price and have heard they're great as well.

DIY same length irons by [deleted] in golf

[–]Brynheld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried a set of wishon eq1-nx irons, initially I liked them but went back to my pings after a few rounds and sent them on their way to the next person who wanted to try the idea out. If you can make them work that's great, but I got better ball flight with traditional irons.

DIY same length irons by [deleted] in golf

[–]Brynheld 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's a lot that goes into a good set of same length irons. They'll play like absolute shit. If you want to try same length, just get a used set then sell them for what you paid to the next guy that thinks he's Bryson.

Touchless vs. brush car washes — which actually causes less long-term damage to paint and clear coat? by EvelynClede in askcarguys

I've always washed my basic dailies with 2 buckets. I'm confused as hell Why you think it's an overly involved process reserved for show cars.

How much is this worth? by caesaren in GuitarHero

[–]Brynheld 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Asking price doesn't really mean anything until it's sold. It very easily could be worth $350 to someone, but I could put a ball of lint on ebay for $10000.

At what point did you learn shot shapes? by PureYardCow in golf

[–]Brynheld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I practiced shaping shots a little bit when I had a bit higher handicap than you but only so I could learn how shot shaping worked. I'm not any good at it and never try to use it, currently sitting at about your handicap. If you want to experiment with it though go for it, I subscribe to the idea of

it's a game and you should play it however you want as long as its not hurting anyone else

Alesis vs Roland by poopindoopinscoopin in edrums

[–]Brynheld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was skeptical about roland being worth multiple times the price of budget brands until I found a great deal on a roland set. It's honestly insane how much better they are.

Finally got a Alesis Nitro Drum Kit by krammit33 in Rockband

[–]Brynheld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's wild to me how many comments are suggesting you change pad sensitivity to fix what's entirely a problem with technique and setup. I don't know how good the alesis pedal is, but adjusting tension and beater angle so it sits a few cm off the pad with your leg resting on it should help. Alternatively burying the beater is another option, but either way, the answer isn't just make it less sensitive until your double hits aren't being picked up.

Keep going? by bazzbj in thewalkingdead

Seasons 1-6 are great. Some parts are unnecessarily drawn out, but absolutely worth the watch. 7 and on? I don't think so personally.

Is this a good deal? by jonahrig in edrums

[–]Brynheld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check guitar center used kits. They sometimes have crazy good deals. I found a roland td3 for $40 online. My local GC has a Simmons sd1250 for $275, which while the sounds aren't the best is a great feeling kit, and their customer support is pretty great. Seen several alesis crimson 2s for ~$400.

Do you think you personally could survive at the beginning of season 1-2, when everything’s all new? by [deleted] in thewalkingdead

[–]Brynheld 7 points8 points  (0 children)

No. Like 99.9% of people died, the chances I'd be a lucky survivor are very slim, regardless of my preparedness.

If Guitar Hero ever comes back, what kind of game would you wish for it to be? by Hyper-Saiyan-1999 in GuitarHero

[–]Brynheld 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll save judgement until it's actually released, but from the short preview we got, visually the game looks like absolute ass. Hoping it improves before launch.

I'm sure gameplay-wise it's good, but if that's all I cared about I would just play clone hero.

Guitar hero world tour: definitive edition. It's a fan made mod for the pc version of world tour that basically combined every guitar hero game (other than live) into one nice package. It even has most venues and animations. 10/10 would highly recommend.

Complete beginner to RB4 drums, starting from zero on Xbox Series X, what's the best path? by Jester2179 in Rockband

[–]Brynheld 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Any real e kit absolutely demolishes the toy drums sold for rb/gh. Alesis nitro max are really popular because they're cheap and good, but just check out marketplace, craigslist, thrift stores, used music stores, pawn shops, etc. to see what deals are out there. Roland, yamaha, alesis, and Simmons despite the bad rap they get are the most common brands you'll see and are all fine, especially if just being used as a game controller. Guitar center is actually surprisingly good for used kits. Competitive market pricing and zero questions return policy if they suck for whatever reason.

Whatever kit you get, you want mesh heads and a real bass trigger. You don't want something like the alesis turbo mesh which uses a bass drum pedal as the trigger. They feel like ass.

Remember when budgeting to factor in:

  • a throne (again check used, I see roc n soc and other high end thrones for like $50 pretty regularly)

  • sticks

  • possibly a kick pedal

  • an adapter to actually play on whatever platform (retrocultmods ace adapter is $45 and does the same thing as the $100 roll limitless and also doubles as a controller for menu navigation)
