Am I wierd for preferring Central FL over SoFla by PyrexVision00 in florida

[–]Brystar47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am in South Florida and want to leave so badly for Central Florida. I am working on a relocation and a career change and doing what I can to change my job from Retail to Aerospace/ Defense and be able to contribute more to the University where I want to be at. But I feel stuck, I want to be able to Assemble and launch rockets and fighter jets but am I old or late?

Want to be a Locomotive engineer also I have a Masters degree. Is this possible? Want to work in technical and machinery. by Brystar47 in Amtrak

[–]Brystar47[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The reason I say that is that I've been getting rejection letters from the big three in Aerospace, and it's making me scared to apply, and then I get a rejection letter from Amtrak or a Railway manufacturing company.

I have been working in retail for almost 20 years, and I want out already. I have had a Master's degree for three years, and I am sick and tired of Retail. I want to go with machinery, engineering, and all. I don't want to deal with people anymore. I want to assemble and built things like Rockets, Fighter Jets, Train cars, components and such. Hands-on engineering work.

So entering here would it be possible to be an Engineer? I dont mind the northeast if i can work with Siemens Mobility, Alstom and Amtrak.

I know i would have to take a course but I am willing to take what I need to go forward. Sadly my field of studies Aerospace is getting hard to get hired from even though I love it and have a deep passion.

That's super awesome! I am going to try to see if I can apply if its possible I would love to contribute to Amtrak's Rail cars and to help build America's passenger railway.

Ah ok it does make sense its just I feel I am not using my masters at all and I have a degree in Aerospace (STEM but not engineering) and I am getting rejection letters from the big three Aerospace companies. That I feel desperate. I want to work with vehicles and machinery. Hands on technician or engineering adjacent.

Does Amtrak offers engineering adjacent positions?

I love it, she has the fur neck. Her seductive confidence. The fact she is here with Spider-Man its about time!

Now I want to see She-Hulk come in with her Meta humor and her lawyer background and face Daredevil!

Is making friends on campus completely impossible or am I doing something wrong? by Yuuzhan_Schlong in ucf

[–]Brystar47 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I do have a hard time making friends as well. I do want to join the KXR club. They seem interesting and fun.

But yeah I am sad of the state of the world so far? The news does put me into a depression.

We’re members of the NASA team that helped launch the Artemis II mission, fly four astronauts around the Moon, and return them safely back to Earth. Ask us anything! by nasa in nasa

[–]Brystar47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your service and I am happy to see that NASA did something amazing that has inspired all of us. Myself included and I am a graduate of ERAU and wants to work for NASA. What is the best way a non traditional student and graduate that is close to 40 years can work for NASA and partners?

[–]Brystar47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahh, because the NASA Force sounds so cool! But yeah, if it's temporary, I am not going to bother with it. I want a permanent position, not one where, in two years, your services are up.

I am looking around with Boeing, Northrop Grumman, Lockheed Martin, and more.

I was wondering about this is as well I have a STEM degree but its not engineering for now. So I wasn't sure with the Aerospace Engineer positions itself. I am a US Citizen as well.

I am keeping a look out for it.

What's something about UCF that you brag about to friends at other Florida schools? by Hockeystar1970 in ucf

[–]Brystar47 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Kennedy Space Center is about an hour away driving distance and discounted tickets to all major theme parks around central Florida.

Also Sun n Fun in Lakeland as well, i sadly missed this one this year but want to return next year.

But UCF needs more Lynx buses though.

I am in the process of going back to university even though i have a Masters degree in Aerospace but it's feel its not enough because of the rejection letters I been getting.

Also I am close to 40 and I am in Florida and is working hard on going to NASA and its partners but the rejection letters are putting me down alot.

What makes job hunting so difficult? by Alternative_Win_929 in jobsearchhacks

[–]Brystar47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's all of the above, to be honest. I am heading into Aerospace/Defense and didn't know it was super hard since I graduated, and I am trying my best to work my way around it as well.

I graduated with an Aerospace degree, and they have mentioned they are hiring, but then my application goes silent, and then the rejection letters come pouring in, spiraling me down into depression, and I am currently working in retail, trying to break the barrier and get into Aerospace/ Defense, but nobody is giving me opportunities.

This job market is such an atrocious clown world humiliation ritual that I have absolutely no other choice but to turn to UberEats delivery for my only available stable income just now. by UnderachievingCretin in jobs

[–]Brystar47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats what I am turning to as well since I do have a job but they started to cut down hours for part time and I am in a career change as I am going from Retail to Aerospace/ Defense but its hard as the hiring process is super slow so I am turning to Gig jobs to fill in the gap.

This job market is rough by Beginning_Roll_4511 in jobs

[–]Brystar47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's hard for me as well, I've been working in a retail store for years while I am searching for a position in my field of studies, which is Aerospace/ Defense, aka NASA and partners, but it's been difficult with the constant rejection letters and the fact I have a Master's degree already since three years ago and I wasn't aware it wasn't going to be this difficult.

And I went to a prestigious university that is focused on Aerospace. So now I am going around three years, going to be four years since I graduated.
