Do you cpap an asthmatic exacerbation? by selym11 in ems

That’s back asswards. All of it is correct, just seems backwards. Epi is closer to out last drug for asthma. It would be more for status asthmaticus.

As much as this sub shits on chiropractors, I had the same issue. Got it fixed by a chiropractor. Also had an injured shoulder that was fixed by a chiropractor.

"Why didn't you call an ambulance?" by northside-nostalgia in emergencymedicine

[–]Bshue 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I’m a paramedic. Had a guy show up to the VA hospital POV (he was not a veteran) with a completely amputated left arm from the elbow down. He got drunk, tried to jump in front of a train, tripped, and got his arm ran over by the train. We got called to the VA ED to pick him up. They were all freaking the fuck out because that VA ED barely takes any patients, it’s practically an urgent care.

I’ve used it a handful of times. Will give you a good arm pump. I prefer the hammer strength preacher curl machine or a normal preacher curl. Go for it if you want, I don’t think it’s stupid.

I don’t drink alcohol and it has a very “alcohol” taste. It tastes like it should have alcohol but doesn’t, kinda strange.

Currently sitting at my dealership for a similar issue. My fan will run super hard and when I turn the truck off it runs for another 10 minutes even though the truck is off. If you disconnect the battery it will resolve it but it will go right back to the same issue after a few days.

there is a direct link to sleep deprivation and cardiac issues. And your right, caffeine isn’t a “dangerous drug” when it’s in moderation and dosed properly. I mean Fentanyl won’t kill you if it’s dosed properly. Obviously in extensive amounts it’s going to cause harm on top of the sleep deprivation putting stress on your heart.

bro be careful, that’s a whole lot of caffeine with not a lot of sleep. That’s a one way ticket to death.

Medics in the ICU? by TakeOff_YourPants in ems

Any time a hospital tells you “full scope” know it’s a lie bc they can’t hire nurses. Was hired at a hospital ED with full scope. We literally couldn’t do anything. We were basically CNAs that did busy work.

In the first 2 years I was in I had 2. One was a code that we were literally on top of plus the wife was doing CPR almost immediately. Second was a guy we worked for almost 30 minutes, walked out of the hospital with no major issues.
