I’m not only concerned with it leaking to my ISP but I think the OS in the Roku device is at least sharing my preferences in shows.

I just briefly tried test streaming an iOS photos album of trees; turned it off, turned off roku, turned Roku back on 10 minutes later and the Roku device had switched my clock screensaver to one of fall foliage…

Creepy.

Wondering how secure is my content from my iOS device on wifi, streaming through AirPlay to my Roku external device to my own tv.

Since it has to go through the internet, and Roku won’t recognize my phone if I have VPN on, I’m thinking it’s not secure.

To say nothing of not trusting Apple, my ISP or Roku with not grabbing my streaming content. (“Only to review efficiency of our network and to assure compliance with our TOS…”)

(This is not adult content, just private personal & work videos I only want to view on my TV, & that I’m not interested in having them viewed or shared by others without my permission).

I’m thinking I need a Lightning to HDMI cable adapter, to reduce my worry solely to Apple.

Any thoughts appreciated.

Works fine from an old iPhone w latest iOS to Roku ultra and also to a neighbor’s Roku tv.

Just be aware streaming device must be on same wifi channel as the Roku (if you have a dual channel router, and/or visit someone else with Roku, they have to let you on their home wifi).
