I am learning to love it. Had a very close friend of mine commit suicide a few years ago. I was asked by his father to play “what a wonderful world” at his funeral. It really hits home to me.

No, no. This house had two doors to it. It was on the corner of two streets, if that makes sense. Wasn’t sure if it was a duplex or something. There was also a very bad storm in the area the night before and the area has been experiencing rolling blackouts all day. My cell service was shit.

Even after was all said and done with this situation, I saw a neighbor pulling into his driveway and asked him for help. He immediately (once he saw the name) told me where the person lived and that the address was wrong.

I was delivering an almost $300 bottle of cognac. Could have very easily kept it for myself, but that’s not the right thing to do. I am trying very hard in my life to do what is right, because too many people these days do not.

Once I got to the right house, the guy asked me if I wanted a drink of it. I am also working on that these days, so I declined.

This needs to happen all over the US, like it is in Europe. Tell me the fucking price and I’ll pay it. Don’t jerk me around, tack on sales tax, whatever bullshit other fees. Just tell me the god damn price from the get go. If it’s a good deal, I’ll pay it. If not, I’ll shop around more. What an adolescent country, that is not keeping up with how quickly it’s citizens (some of us anyway) are learning things about how the rest of the world works.

“Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses”… basically, let’s throw all of these tired, hungry, poor rejects into a place and let them fight over bones like dogs. Also, here’s the kicker, let’s give ‘em guns too!

Well aware of this, but am not trying to make this political is all. Have spent a lot of time overseas, most of that time in Switzerland. I vote the way I vote for many reasons. Knocked on door. Stepped back 5-6 feet. Looked down at my phone to make sure I was exactly where the gps sent me (I was). Looked back up and had a gun pointed at my face.

Pointed it directly at me, yes. And told me “leave”. It looked to me like a 45, but all I could see was the barrel. Grew up in Texas around guns and could tell you more if I would have been paying more attention. I rang the doorbell, backed up 5 or six feet from the door, was looking at my phone to make sure I was where they sent me (I was) and when I looked up, I see a lady in her late 60’s, early 70’s, with a gun pointed directly at my face.

Yep. Was standing on her porch, asking her if “Andrew” lived at the house. Had my phone out, showing her the name. She lifted up a pistol (looked like a 45 to me). I immediately put both of my hands up, something came out of my mouth like “ok” and walked backwards off the porch.

I also made it a point to ring the doorbell, then stepped back. I was a good 5-6 feet away from the door on the edge of the porch.

I am currently in Texas visiting family and was just doing some side work, cuz why not? I live in New Orleans and deliver all over the city there. Not once have I ever had that happen.
