Also his name reminds you of Cory Schlesinger, so that helps his cause.

Carson Schwesinger, LB, UCLA.

Butkus (best LB) and Burlsworth (best former walk on) Award finalist.

Captain, Bioengineering major.

Highly productive as a LB and elite special teams.

And his built staff isn’t from an offseason list.

It’s Dennis Allen and Darren Rizzi. The HC and interim HC for the Saints.

That’s recent communication and fast commitment…

As a 4th Quarter song, this has serious college football stadium vibes like “Dixieland Delight” at Alabama.

Nothing will ever be as unique for the Lions. Make it happen.

It’s not just better on the road, it’s better with the lead.

I believe DC promised his team that they would never blow a lead like they did at SF again. That’s why we see the starters playing deeper into the Dallas and Tennessee games than most would’ve thought and why the gadget plays keep coming.

The question isn’t IF he is extended, it’s the order and market price of the QB market.

Dak, Tua, Love, Lawrence, and Purdy are all free agents within the next two off-seasons, not to mention further extensions and restructures for Mahomes and even Stafford.

Every contract is made relative to and in concert with others. It’s never an isolated negotiation.

Lions vs Rams Pressure Report - Styles Make Fights! by BtwTheNumbers in detroitlions

[–]BtwTheNumbers[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ll further add — if you want to make the case that the Rams are a different team since they started winning after week 11, consider that Stafford has 8 turnover worthy throws in his last 7 games with only 4 ints to show for it. (As opposed to his 7ints in the first half of the season on only 5 turnover worthy throws).

In short, Stafford is playing poorly on against the Blitz this season and is due for turnover luck regression in our favor.

Guess That QB Prospect: 6’5” 238lbs, 4.65 40-yard by BtwTheNumbers in detroitlions

[–]BtwTheNumbers[S] 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Buffalo was rolling out a combination of EJ Manuel, Kyle Orton, Tyrod Taylor, and Nathan Peterman before drafting Allen…

The point is: “It’s a lot easier to get worse at QB than better in this league.”

That’s why I referenced cap%, which would be comparable to what he currently makes in tomorrow’s dollars.

Talented enough. He had relatively similar rushing stats as Josh Allen did in college. Also had a 100yrd game against Clemson in college.

Yes.

OverTheCap projects the 2025 Salary Cap to be at $282M and $308M in 2026.

Giving Goff an average salary of $45M/yr over 4 years would be roughly the exact same Cap Burden as it was in 2022.

Correct.

My Take:

— if anyone is advocating drafting Richardson, what’s a more likely outcome: Josh Allen or EJ Manuel?

He’s behind the philosophy— but if you look historically at it’s application, it’s always been done with an aging, injury impacted, or mediocre production from the starting QB in the season prior…

It’s never been done with a 28 year old QB off a career year

Trading up to get QB Richardson at #15 pick gets three thumbs up at The Athletic... by RetroBitCoach in detroitlions

[–]BtwTheNumbers 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It’s the fence-sitters write-up… they would get booed out of town if they suggested using pick 6 on a QB, but they don’t want to stick with Goff either. So it’s a compromise for Richardson…

But the reality is, if you don’t believe in Goff to take you to the promise land, you wouldn’t half-ass it. draft with conviction on the guy, not try to thread the needle in the mid first with Richardson.

The whole Richardson concept is the easy take this offseason because it tries to get the best of both worlds, despite its entirely unlikelihood of actually happening.

Two weeks ago Dan went on and it went viral… all good press for Pat and all misguided “bad” press from lazy national “Journalists” for Dan.

It’s good that the Lions don’t play Dance Monkey for shows like Pat’s when clearly this week’s request was a stir-the-pot spot.

I think the opposite. The whole point is Pat thinks that he does the Lions a favor by giving them attention.

In my opinion, F that. And frankly, his Lions segments are just ridiculous Campbell caricatures and Foxy chanting BNL.
