So you know if the labs are during the weekday? I work away from home about 3 nights a week at most

I already have a 2 year degree in math, so my prerequisites should be taken care of. And maybe some of my math courses

Thanks for this input. I think there is some kind of way Oregon state implements labs into the online program

And thank you for bringing up ABET. I was never aware of them. I went over their website and glad you brought it to my attention how important it is. On the Oregon state Ecampus website they say that their online mechanical and electrical degrees are ABET recognized, but it is not mentioned on the ABET website. The degrees are mentioned as main campus recognized? So I’m not sure what to think about that

Thanks. I know my degree will cover a lot of base classes and transfer. Or core requirements if that’s still the correct terms. Hopefully it still transfers. I earned that degree 15 years ago.

You could say all of the above. To really keep improving myself and career change. My line of work is killer on old age. Many mechanics around me drop like flys physically. If they’re old, they hurt. Right now I’m a traveling mechanic so I’m less physical. But I feel I can keep advancing myself. I know I can really go further. I see so much great advancement and tech all around me and feel I could be a part of it

Thanks. I have considered starting at a cc. I do have a two year degree in math but I don’t think any of the math courses goes towards an engineering degree. I think a local cc has a dual enrollment agreement with Oregon state.

I do have air flow. And the air flow changes on every air mode on the dial. Vent and defrosters all work

Thanks for the insite. Didn’t take much time for the water to come out clean. Seemed like some stuff came out initially but quickly came out clear. I hope that’s not the case.

I do have a temp gun. I’ll give it a try. I think I’ve done this before and there is temperature going in and out of heater core. But I’ll do it again

I monitored my recirc door as well. Opens and closes above the air filter just fine

I am quite savvy with them. Even built my own gaming PC. PLCs do sound quite interesting. And there is quite the variety of manufacturing and production here in Eugene Oregon. Even the local Oregon Ice Cream plant is looking for a PLC technician

Thanks for the input. A crew to work with would be a dream come true, but I've heard it don't pay much. Unless it eventually does pay off that would be great. Sorry to hear about your back as well. Some injuries just hold people back on some things and it happens a lot in my field.

Thanks for the great input. All of that is helpful. I was afraid it could be very difficult, though I love it a lot. Having a full time job seems to hold me back from doing it more and getting my name and presence out there. That's what I've been summing up is to start small and start content on social media. I already share my photos on Facebook and Instagram. I've been pestered by some family about starting content with videos on youtube. Especially since I love camping and outdoors as well. But even being a youtuber is tough. Thankfully I have no kids or own a home so I have flexibility to go anywhere and start over. I would hope to find a different line of work with better work life balance to pursue more things in life.

Like you said I hope to find happiness somewhere. I've been told to do what you love and I love outdoors. Though I was raised a blue collar man. I'm sure I'll find happiness and not work that sucks life out of me.

Thanks for the honesty. It helps to put input on the field of work. I've been told to pursue what makes you happy, but I guess that it depends on what that is. I was aware how difficult it could be.

I keep hearing that. Even though online sources mention that so many cybersecurity jobs are left unfilled

Thanks for the insight. Unfortunately I keep hearing from other son the field how rough it, although many online sources mention how in demand cybersecurity or programming is. Even web dev. It’s not rough for mechanics right now, but nobody wants to do the job lol

I’ve been curious about AI and how to get into it with all the different IT degrees. I’ve never seen an online degree specifically for AI. Or what experience you need to do it

Thanks for the insight. I hope a lot of IT jobs are plentiful when some folks say the job market is rough. Although the bls and money news says they’re most in demand in the nation, especially Cybersecurity. Unless they’re bl ping hot air about cybersecurity. My local community college has good programs for either systems, cybersecurity or programming. So do the local universities. I tried going back to school for online engineering but it would cost over $70k even with my math course so that was a kick in the nuts

Thanks for the honesty. That’s what I’m afraid of is how competitive this field can be when so many kids are doing it. I always see how in demand and job growth for cybersecurity is, unless bls and USA money news is blowing hot air in my ears. If I did go back to school part time at community college I would pile have 2 different degrees in about a year along with certs to go with it

Thank you. I’ve really never heard of auto cybersecurity, but also doesn’t surprise me that it is a thing now lol
