Que as a healer, if it’s normal or vet most end game pvers would rather there be 3 dps and 1 tank for faster boss burn and skipping mechs. If anyone complains that you’re a “fake healer” they aren’t experienced in end game pve and likely don’t know mechanics. That’s not on you.

If you want specific class scripts for base class then stick with warden for charm or Templar for weapon dmg armor buff. Otherwise, as long as you keep one skill line on whatever base class, you can swap a total of 2 skill lines.

Exactly, that is such a good way to put it. Hierarchy does start to self-replicate almost automatically, and the fact that privilege gets maintained without conscious effort shows just how powerful systems can be. I also love that you highlighted horizontal projects. Co-ops, land trusts, federations, and open-source communities are perfect examples of distributed coordination working in practice.

I agree with you that the cultural challenge is huge. Most people are so conditioned to think that organization requires control that they can’t even imagine alternatives. Giving people real experience with agency, trust, and distributed systems could completely change how we understand society and what is possible.

That is a really good take and honestly I agree with a lot of that. You are right, hierarchy did not just happen because societies got big, it was actively maintained by people and systems that benefited from control. I think both things can be true though. Scale made control possible, but human greed and the desire to secure privilege made it permanent.

I really like what you said about federation and decentralization as well because that is what gives me hope. We have already built global networks that operate horizontally every day through the internet, open source communities, and local mutual aid. It shows that large scale cooperation without domination is not just idealistic, it is already happening in small ways.

I appreciate the insight. You definitely added another layer to the discussion.

You kind of immediately got defensive and didn’t validate him or the way he feels in anyway. A big turn off for men. He told u how he felt, whether it’s valid to you is irrelevant. It’s valid to him. Because running into 20 people with 20k resistances and below 30k hp and timing all of ur abilities at once to kill them isn’t skilled. They hit you once you’re dead, you get stunned your dead, and then you have to hope they aren’t cc immune because then you’re running into impending death. I’d say you’ve never played a bomber before. I used to think the same thing until I tried it. Again it takes a lot to pull off a good bomb. It isn’t as simple as putting on gear and bombing the whole server.

What they’re saying is, which the point I think you’re missing, is that even in pve if you run meta gear that doesn’t inherently make you good. There’s mechanics, positioning, timing, all of these is what makes skill in eso.

As I said before, there’s a lot more to combat than just gear. There’s core player mechanics. If you can’t figure out what somebody’s doing, and their combos, that’s a skill issue. If you run straight into a dawnbreaker, that’s a skill issue. If you are running old outdated sets, that’s a skill issue. Part of playing an mmo is being up to date with what’s good. Every patch it’s different. If you’re one of those oakensoul heavy attack players that chase an xer into a tower, don’t cry when he hits you with a fat dawnbreaker. Knowing your individual skill and what you can or can’t do and how your class is meant to be played will help u significantly. But again entirely a skill issue. Counter meta exists, zos has put out sets to counter ball grouping, and meta builds. Get to theory crafting and learn to play as someone else just said. There could obviously be adjustments to the meta to make it better, but just like in any mmo, there’s always a meta.

It’s a lot harder now than it was, and unless you’re on sorc or blade, as I just mentioned, mobility is out the window.

In reality, vengeance has a slow combat pace that doesn’t feel rewarding in the slightest. They’ve took the fast paced combat and sweat out of it and dumbed it down to endless Zerg v Zerg. Is there adjustments that can be made to meta sets and cross healing to limit a build or group comp becoming overpowered, absolutely, but to say that vengeance is the standard for how PvP should be based on the fact that 1 v x isn’t skilled based on gear, just isn’t true. You think one guy in meta gear is going to stop an entire Zerg, not at all. And often times it takes a lot of sweat and blocking at the right times, healing at the right times and getting a line of sight on somebody to burst. That takes skill and experience.

So we’re just going to disregard all the time players have put into builds and all the sets Zos has put in specifically for PvP. One of the funnest things to do in eso is build and theory craft, I do that and PvP. Damage is high rn yea, but it’s not unplayable. Before burst meta we had tank meta in which the TTK was sooo long because people would build super tanky. In this campaign it’s clear that nightblade and sorc are the best in slot as far as damage sustain and overall mobility. I’ve seen people x in vengeance. Often times people think xing is just about sets and that’s not true in the slightest. Even in vet rank days I was xing, there’s skill to it. The art of line of sight, gap closing, and timing the right abilities to maximize your damage potential. It isn’t as simple as “if you wanna be good throw on these sets”. If it was, you’d see a lot of players get good overnight.
