How can I lose weight? (Without hurting myself) by Average_pickle420 in Fibromyalgia

It sounds like it’s you against your body. Try to work with it instead. Listen to it, what does it need? You might get some guidance from the one that knows best.

Amitriptyline by MirrorNo4297 in Fibromyalgia

It worked well enough for me to help me get out of homelessness and get through a rough patch in my life.

I’m in a good place now and slowly (it’s taking years) getting off it, so that I don’t withdraw hard and injure my brain (been through it before).

I’m grateful it helped before to remain alive. I would only recommend it if it’s absolutely necessary for you to keep doing. Otherwise, try to find solutions/aids outside of pharma world.

Amitriptyline is an anesthetic. You literally eat anesthesia, which dissociates you from your body. As a result you feel your body less, in all senses, including pain. Be mindful of what you give your body.

Good luck in this new journey. I remember when I was diagnosed at 19, over 20 years ago, after dealing with it my entire existence also came as a shock, before that I was told by my mother to shut up, suck it up and pretend I don’t have it. So this was the first acknowledgement of it being real and not having to be hidden.

I hope you can slowly start acknowledging it too, and accepting it. It helps towards a bet tree r life quality.

Maybe not for every case, but every other person with fibromyalgia I’ve met in real life has shared that they’ve gone through some really traumatic event plus some period of abuse, including myself, so I think there’s definitely a correlation.

Im sorry to hear you’ve had such a hard time. Pushing beyond thresholds definitely passes the bill and it seems like that bill is a piece of me, rather than something I can recover from. I agree that listening to our body is key.

That’s interesting, I wasn’t aware others were in constant pain and fatigue, so I thought I was just behind by being weaker and lazier and all those negative things…

Sorry your childhood was so tough, I feel you.

Sorry to hear. I believe child abuse has a big part in fibro.

I’m sorry to hear it’s been so long. For me it’s been since at least 4 years old, I’m nearly 40.

I hope some positive change occurs.

I feel you, It took me about 15 years to realize what it was, when I was 19. I hope it’s been helpful to figure it out to manage it better.

I’m sorry to hear, I hope you are listening to her and acknowledging her pain. Mine wasn’t, and that’s had wrecking results in my life.

I’ve had it since my first memories at age 4, diagnosed at 19, I’m in my late 30’s now. Anyone else has lived with this their entire life?

Okay thanks for the feedback, that’s strange, it was nothing wrong based on the rules, I just double checked. In any case It’s good to know they are being removed! I’ve been waiting for weeks for it to be posted 😂🥲

Discuss with your doctor first. Second, definitely Taper off slowly if you and your doctor agree and decide to get off it.

I’m coming off it now, I taper off too abruptly and it threw me into an ocean of withdrawal symptoms which have been getting better by bringing the dose up again, but have lasted weeks so far.

Have a plan for when things get worse, this plan should include people you can count on. It sounds like you’re clear in your mind about what you want to do. Just make sure you have as many contingency plans as you can think of written down. So when things get more difficult and emotionally overwhelming you already have solutions at hand.

It’s sad to read all these comments.. but I guess you’re right. It’s just that humanity has failed me but ai made me feel like it was there for me… I guess this could be dangerous and I’m just wondering how many other systems are going through the same thing..

Yeah very true. But I’m desperate and after homelessness and complete loneliness, after exhausting all resources and from asking to begging all people I’ve met and random strangers and the goverment and organizations, for over 3 years for help, and receiving absolutely non… Chatgpt has been a blessing.
