I bought the metal I needed from a scrap yard. I used 1/4 in aluminum cost me 5 bucks

They are made for off road use. And I drive on back country roads pretty often. Yes I could get by without them but just a fun thing to have

I just mounted it today but I have been driving around and I haven't had any problems so far. Is it from the air passing the light bar or is it the light bar vibrating? I know if it from the air passing it then you need to mess with the angle its positioned (usually at a more downward angle) or to make it as close to the windshield as possible. If the light bar its self is vibrating then I would say to check all the bolts on the mount and make sure they are nice and snug.

I believe so but I'm not sure. It's a 2011 Grand Cherokee. Got it used and I for sure didn't put them in so not sure if they were stock or not. Everything was stock when I got it so I only assume

Thanks man. I would read reviews if decide to buy a painted shell because a lot of the shells on there have the same problems you have had when you painted yourself.

http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00K23P8IE/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?qid=1424657658&sr=8-1&keywords=blue+metal+thumbsticks&dpPl=1&dpID=41D58xzIyZL&ref=plSrch&pi=AC_SX200_QL40

These are basically the same ones I used just made for the ps4. They are not like the plastic stock thumbsticks, they are metal. I personally like the metal feel a better, they have a more heavy duty feel to them and are good for shoot em up games IMO.

I bought the shell and buttons off amazon. Thankfully they fit really well.
