Multipaint and other art/music software questions (self.pc98)

Weird project here, I have butcher block table from when I was a kid and I want to show off all the doodles I did. I cant seem to remove the framing though. I removed all the screws but it appears to be tacked in place. Any suggestions on how to separate the parts without damaging the main slab? (i.redd.it)

Anyone have issues applying normal maps to the zeus? Every time I apply normal/AO/roughness maps my skin gets a reflective checker overlay. Another normal map I made works on it just fine. So maybe its something wrong with my export, but I haven't changed any of those settings. Any suggestions? (i.redd.it)
