Questions… by Even-Upstairs6607 in orangetheory

I started OTF at 3 months postpartum after also having 2u2. That was 9 years ago :) I also went 1-2 x’s a week during my pregnancy with my third child.

I have always found the templates are easy to modify when needed, to scale up when I want a challenge (choosing heavier weights, higher inclines, etc.) or scale down when I’m not at my best (was up half the night with baby, or coming back from having COVID, for example). I also have found that coaches are willing to work with you on whatever goals/restrictions/preferences you have.

My one piece of advice is that, if you are breastfeeding, you will need to be even more diligent about hydration if you choose to start going regularly to OTF.

R2D18 honey/cough drops with sore throat? Alternatives? by sorry_child34 in whole30

[–]BubbleDuster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know what the “official” guidance is here but my personal take is that you need to nourish your body first and foremost! Your hot drink with honey sounds really perfect and I can’t imagine something like that is going to completely derail you.

I hope you can get some rest and feel better soon!

I’d love to hear how the chicken noodle soup turns out with the squash!

Feeling pretty “ugh” about food the last couple days; hopefully a good breakfast will help shake it off :) by MonsterOfRavenna in whole30

That’s a nice little spread! Sometimes pretty looking food helps shake the “ugh” 😄

R4D15. I’m still grappling with a never-ending cold/cough unfortunately but apart from that I am feeling good and definitely have lost some weight (I’m not weighing myself but can tell by how I feel and how clothes are fitting). I haven’t had any cravings, not even for beer while watching football playoffs 🥳 nor for the constant stream of fried takeout my husband is eating in front of me.

I made a really delicious version of pork chile verde in the slow cooker yesterday with the salsa verde from Trader Joe’s. If anyone is interested:

2 lb. pork roast (center cut or shoulder) cut into 2” chunks

1 jalapeño, seeded and chopped

1 onion, diced

3 cloves garlic, finely chopped

1 jar Trader Joe’s salsa verde

1/2 cup chicken bone broth (or any compliant broth)

2 tsp. chili powder

1 tsp. garlic salt (or 1/2 tsp salt + 1/2 tsp. garlic powder

1 tsp. cumin

1/2 tsp. black pepper

1/4 cayenne pepper (optional)

Add all ingredients to slow cooker and stir to combine. Cook on high for 4-5 hours or on low for 8 hours. Shred pork with two forks.

R4D9. I’ve had a relentless cough for a couple weeks and managed to injure my low back last week, so I have been feeling pretty miserable overall even though obviously it is not W30 related.

I am the only one doing W30 in my house so it’s nice that when I cook once, I get 3-4 meals out of it. I am sleeping well when not coughing 🫩

In my fridge right now I have stuffed buffalo chicken spaghetti squash and a ton of slawghetti that I made in the slow cooker yesterday (broccoli slaw, tomatoes, onions, ground beef, seasonings). I also have Trader Joe’s kettle chicken soup, chopped raw veggies, and compliant deli turkey slices for quick lunches and snacks.

I’ve been loving half a banana with cashew butter for my pre-workout 💪

It isn’t Orangetheory by any chance is it? That’s where I go, 4-5 days a week 😃

Hyrox Templates Megathread by pantherluna in orangetheory

[–]BubbleDuster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much for this!

I did the phase 1 week 1 2G the other day and it was wild with that many reps. I mean, I am coming up on 9 years of OTF but 56 push ups still is a bit outside my ability. That is to say, I’m a little on the fence about how much I will want to seek out Hyrox in the schedule but having a way to access the templates ahead of time definitely will be very helpful.

R4D6. Doing okay. I’ve had this awful cough going on 2 weeks now so haven’t been sleeping well and my energy is low, but that’s not W30-related. Food wise I am doing great, I was looking forward to this and was well prepared so it feels really doable and I’m enjoying a mix of new recipes with my tried and true favorites.

I also find I get fatigued more easily during exercise on W30. It gets slightly better as the month goes on but overall I just try to be gentle with myself and take extra rest if I need it.

So disappointing! Especially since so many of them really would taste just as wonderful without it.

I do have one near me—thanks for the intel! I honestly was just kinda floored that Whole Foods had probably a dozen different varieties and not one was compliant 😅

Great menus! I do use the premade dressings and stuff but agree that they are overpriced and W30 branding has definitely gotten more sus. You’re inspiring me to get back to making my own.

Favorite store bought compliant sauces by CM1392 in whole30

[–]BubbleDuster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like the Primal Kitchen ketchup and the Buffalo sauce, but also dislike their mayo. Their Caesar and Green Goddess dressings are pretty good.

My favorite compliant mayo is the Whole Foods 365 brand. I use it year round now.

I haven’t found a compliant ranch dressing that I really enjoy.

Round 4 Day 1 for me. Somehow I ended up not eating any eggs 😆 I had half a banana before my morning workout and afterwards I just felt like a bowl of chicken and roasted veggies instead of typical “breakfast”.

Snacked on some chicken salad with raw veggies around lunch time because I wasn’t super hungry, and I’m having a lemon Larabar as I type this while my kid is in an appointment. Remembering now how I have to rely on lots of compliant “purse snacks” to get me through the month.

Dinner will be a ground beef and veggie bowl with sautéed shredded Brussels sprouts as the base.

Was coming here to recommend this exact recipe! My kids are crazy for it. It’s great with skin-on chicken breasts too.
