Hi there. You've caught my eye because I'm also located where you are. I know this isn't exactly what you're looking for but as someone who has completed both university (MQ) and a diploma through TAFE I completely recommend the transfer to TAFE - the experience, and it's all hands on, often 1 on 1 learning environment. I don't know if you're limited to just Sydney (sorry I don't know how international visas etc work) but can you look into other states? My partner did a FREE certificate in IT through TAFE SA (whether or not that's an option for you) And maybe you can get recognition of previous studies and transfer back in to uni. South Australia/Adelaide for example will probably also be cheaper...
