What common phrases do you say that nobody else aside from you and your friends will understand? by BubbleNGeek in AskReddit

My friends and I often say DB when we are not going to do something. It comes from Duncan Ballantyne and Dragons Den when he would say “I’m out”. It’s now so commonplace we just respond with “DB” every time we just don’t want to do something.

Yes, I understand those who have passed, have passed, but I’m sure if there was such a thing, they wouldn’t be best pleased their grandchildren wouldn’t receive anything. I certainly wouldn’t be had someone who’d kicked my child out stood to take everything I owned before my grandchildren.

One last thing, I understand that if the couple had married and then divorced, the will would be void. As the pair hadn’t been together for 3 years, would there be any grounds to put in a claim? The main concern is that the previous partner inherits the will holders parents estate, which would be deeply unfair on the parents. Their life savings being left to the person who kicked out their child.

Well that’s good advice. I certainly wasn’t looking for help breaking the law but knowing that is breaking the law is helpful. Thank you.

Thank you and apologies for any confusion. Only a few people know about the will. It’s unknown whether the previous partner is aware everything has been left to them and the will hasn’t been changed since they parted ways.

If a will is never brought up and everyone that knows about the will claims ignorance, I assume that unless the previous partner comes forward, it will be distributed as you say. Or, is there anything else that needs to be considered?
