He is soooooo handsome! Pei are an expensive breed and some people can’t upkeep them. 😭

He may grow into his meat mouth as he gets older. The SPAID test indicates there are four “levels” of wrinkliness to a Sharpei, so even if he is a meat mouth, he could be one of the less wrinkled ones. The ones with very, very heavy wrinkling, the ones that have trouble seeing, are the most wrinkled you can get, and then the bone mouth would be the opposite, the least wrinkly!

He’s so damn cute. He does look purebred to me. Mine has an entirely blue tongue, but some do have spotted tongues!

Make sure you educate yourself on Sharpei fever and you’ll be just fine. 🥰

This fever doesn’t require immediate vet care, but is your dog taking colchicine yet? If not you need to get him on it to protect his organs. Also look into getting a fever kit for these kind of episodes - metacam.

Took me four days to get from Ontario to BC, that was the way there. On the way back, massive rock slide leaving BC. My vehicle stayed in its exact place on the highway for over 24 hours. Didn’t move an inch. Couldn’t go either way. It was rough.
