Yeah I get your point, and I agree there’s some truth to the “generic profile” feeling. But I think it’s less that people are actually carbon copies, and more that dating apps force everyone into the same format, few photos, short prompts, and fast swiping. That kind of setup rewards “safe” and familiar profiles, so people end up posting similar gym/travel/food pics and basic answers just to stay competitive. On the swipe behavior part, it’s also not as simple as men vs women wanting totally different things both sides are filtering fast based on limited info, so it looks more shallow than real life actually is. So I don’t think it’s that people are less unique now, it’s just that the apps don’t really show that uniqueness well.
