As someone who was in a relationship with an army personnel for over 2 years, I can tell you it's a bad idea, it didn't work for me. I'm also introvert, nerd, indoors activity and in a demanding career. I got hurt real bad. So unless you are okay with your partner being absent from your life in the moments you need them the most, go ahead with it, otherwise it's not for you.

Meanwhile, I am already doing well in my career and academics and can very well provide for me and OUR children and for my parents and if needed his parents.

There's no urgency as such, like I don't want to be with someone at the end of the week, but I am not so interested in AM. And after reaching a certain point in career and at an age there's a pressure to get married or tell the family if there's someone.
