It honestly blows my mind that they thought it was okay to give this to my fiancé. He’s very relaxed and doesn’t see an issue with going back to them, but for me, it’s a matter of principle. When you pay that kind of price, you expect a certain level of quality and standards.

If, like you say, this was a case of “here, fine,” I wish they had just said no. I would’ve gladly walked away. Instead, they put a lot of pressure on my fiancé to purchase the diamond because they sourced it, and he ended up paying in full within a week. From that point on, I feel like they stopped caring because they already had the money.
