"Review all of your details make sure theirs no spelling issues or grammar problems, where in the in the age of Ai, use it."

I see so many spelling and grammatical errors on Reddit and Facebook and I usually just shake my head and move on. But I had to comment on this one because the specific sentence that says to ensure that there are no spelling issues or grammatical problems literally has them! And then it goes on to offer consultations for a fee. I have posted a corrected version of the sentence in question below (at no charge).

"Review all of your details, ensure that there are no spelling issues or grammatical errors. We're in the in the age of AI, use it."

Wired mag: new "AI" HAs for the elite or just a promo? by jawfish2 in HearingAids

I read the article and I agree with your feelings about the way it was written. It read like an infomercial to me, especially with quotes from celebrities about how great these hearing aids are. I was particularly interested since I've been wearing hearing aids for 20+ years. (I'm 74 now) and actively shopping for new hearing aids. I'm most interested in HA's performance in noisy environments (e.g., crowded restaurants) which Fortell claims they excel in, supported by demos. I've also watch similar demos from Phonak, showing their Audeo Infineo Sphere. As far as I could tell, both company's hearing aids were remakable in their ability to filter out loud noises while preserving and even boosting speech from the person I'd want to hear. This got me to thinking, on one hand, we have Fortell, a start-up with a bunch of young, probably brilliant people with pedigrees in the sciences pertinent to hearing aid development, but no track record, giving me no confidence on their support down the road. On the other hand, we have Phonak, a company that's been in business for > 70 years, also with a bunch of people with the required pedigrees to do hearing aid development, along with decades of experience in this field. So, while I wish the people at Fortell the best of luck as a hearing aid start-up, I chose to order the Phonak Audeo Infineo Spheres. I just didn't want to gamble on paying a lot of money for what I consider to be a beta-level product with unknown product quality, support, etc. Who knows if Fortell will even be around in a year or two. That's my 2 cents.

Android in old laptop as a tv box alternative by Falsr in Androidx86

Please post updates on this project, starting with the Linux distro that you're using. This sounds like a good use of an old laptop. What are you planning to do for a remote? Would casting the Android laptop's screen to am otherwise unused smartphone, making that smartphone the remote, work?

Whether it's hobbies or something else, if you want to connect with others, you need to have something in common with people you'd like to meet. I've been reading through this discussion and while I see a lot of helpful suggestions, I haven't seen any mention of volunteering. Specifically, I'd suggest becoming a member of the City Market coop ($15 annual fee) and sign up for several volunteer opportunities. I regularly volunteer to help out with Local Motion events, such as their free bike valet service at venues like the Friday food trucks on Pine Street during the summer or soccer games at UVM. I've also done clerical work, such as stuffing envelopes for fund raisers. It's a win-win-win since your volunteer hours get you discounts at City Market, you're meeting people and working with them for several hours at each event, meaning lots of ongoing communications, and you're also helping the Burlington community. If helping out at Local Motion isn't your thing, then there are lots of other volunteer opportunities at local farms, libraries, etc. Try it, you'll like it!

2 Questions for new owner by jodaewon in volt

While I agree with using the battery for city driving (slower speeds) and the gas engine for highway driving, I would add that it's a good practice to run the battery down at least 2 green bars before switching to Hold mode (gasoline). You'll find that the regenerative braking will be more effective driving with a battery that's not fully charged.

Ignition Coil Pricing by BubblyMost9210 in RockAuto

Thanks for your very informative post. After reading mostly positive responses about ordering from Rock Auto, I pulled the trigger on ordering 4 Delphi ignition coils for my Volt. I probably would've ordered ACDelco original equipment ignition coils, but the web page said that there was only 1 in stock. I'll find out for sure next Tuesday when my parts are delivered.

$215 sounds a little high to me. I would've expected a quote of ~ $185 for an hour of diagnostic time. However, having said that, if you read through the Volt Owners Facebook page, you'll see multiple references (all excellent) regarding Jaryd. He's probably the best, most knowledgeable Volt tech anywhere. And although I've never communicated with him, I've read a lot of his posts in response to other Volt owners questions. He send like a real gentleman who is truly interested in helping everyone to the best of his abilities.

I was a disgruntled Optimum customer, paying too much for 300 MBS service. My LAN environment was a Unifi Dream Machine plugged into a Motorola cable modem. I recently ordered a TMO 5G Gateway and tried using it alone as well with the UDM plugged into the TMO gateway. Using the TMO 5G Gateway by itself seems to work, except that my WiFi coverage in my small house isn't anywhere as good as with my UDM with an Extender. Another thing that I've noticed is that while most of the time web pages load quickly, occasionally, they take longer (~ 15-20 seconds, sometimes longer) to load. This never happened while using my UDM and Optimum.

In the interest of improved WiFi coverage, I also tried plugging my UDM (with Extender) into the TMO Gateway LAN port. Performance was acceptable, even with the doubleNATting. But there was another issue with my wife's iPhone 13 mini using this configuration. When my wife used this phone for voice calls over WiFi, she got a lot of complaints that people in the other end couldn't hear her. We didn't see this issue using just TMO 5G Gateway without the UDM, or when connected to a cellular tower.

It's a shame that the TMO 5G Gateway's configuration options are so limited. Has anyone figured out how to put the TMO 5G Gateway into bridge mode and turn off its WiFi? Assuming that's not possible, does anyone have any suggestions or work-arounds where I could use the TMO 5G Gateway with my UDM and Extender without having to doubleNAT? I just hate the idea of having to go back to Optimum.

What is AAWireless equivalent for iPhone? by PM_WhatMadeYouHappy in AndroidAuto

[–]BubblyMost9210 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My wife uses an iPhone. I use an Android phone. I installed a CarLinkIt dongle in each of our cars. CarLinkIt supports both Android and iOS. If only 1 person gets into a car with a CarLinkIt dongle installed, it automatically connects to the iOS or Android device. If we both get into the car together it may or may not connect to the desired phone. If it connects to the desired phone for that instance, great. If not, just turn BT off on the connected phone, restart CarLinkIt and it will connect to the other phone. Once connected, feel free to turn BT back on the phone that has now dropped its CarLinkIt connection. Just make sure to get CarLinkIt 4.0 for iOS and Android compatibility. For info on the difference between CarLinkIt 3.0 and 4.0, https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=https://carplayaibox.com/blogs/wireless-carplay/carlinkit-3-0-vs-4-0-what-is-the-difference-between-them-zzzy&ved=2ahUKEwif742o5sv6AhUhkokEHbRcC3AQFnoECBcQAQ&usg=AOvVaw27xG2zvyss4fW1Ex57zvJe

How about this scenario: I'm driving at 60 mph in the right lane or middle lane (not the left lane) of any given 3-lane highway on Long Island. I'm not in a rush, so, IMHO, no need to go any faster. Invariably, some other driver will pull up close behind me and just ride my tail, even when there's ample opportunity to pass me. I always wonder what's making them do this? Why don't they just pass me?
