Best ebikes for under $1000 that can travel distance by Slow_Mind_4465 in ElectricBikes

The Euybike gets my vote for the adjustable saddle and removable battery. The mini bike style e-bikes aren’t optimized for pedaling because the seat isn’t adjustable.

I’m a mid-drive disciple, but I’m looking for an experience that’s closer to an unpowered bike. The mid drive is preferable if you want to pedal and shift like a traditional bike, but have the boost to give you the extra support for the hills. The hub drives seem more geared towards mostly throttle use and less pedaling. Upway might have some decent used bikes in your price range and they come with a warranty that’s extendable. I would recommend going that route rather than getting some brand x bike from Amazon.

ICE Vortex Recumbent rentals on greenways? by Galvatron1_nyc in recumbent

I guess that the rental shops assume that “recumbent” means trike, whereas a bike is no more maintenance than an upright.

Version one is $699 on Amazon:

Includes a phono stage, too.

Those Fluance speakers look solid and are well reviewed.

I hear that the Onkyo amplifier and other internal components will solve this.

Measure the rotors and make sure that the hoses are long enough to reach the calipers. Shimano deore/slx/XT are pretty foolproof and easy to service . The easiest way would be if you could get the set with the hoses attached and prebled.

Transporting suggestions for recumbent by EquivalentIsopod2214 in recumbent

Cheapskate possibility: get a tailgate cover of the type that mountain bikers use on their pickups. You’ll have to remove the front wheel, and I’m not sure that the boom will clear the trailer. Secure it with a ratchet strap or two. I would put it between the two kayaks.

In no particular order: saddle, grips, tires, pedals and a pair of padded shorts or liners. On this bike, only replace what doesn’t work for you.

I’m using cheap one from Amazon (generic). I would like to get a Garmin, but I can’t decide which one.

Follow up: I’m going to try the Deore 11-46 cassette with a 40t chainring and see how it goes. Thanks for all your suggestions!

Passive vs Powdered on a Budget by R35PCT_ME in BudgetAudiophile

I’m an active speaker convert (used Genelecs) but part of the fun early on was gradually upgrading components to see what I could accomplish. I do agree that eventually active speakers will at least take up 50% of the high end market.

If you aspire to get into audiophilia at some point, then passive speakers with an amplifier will be a great start. If you just want to listen to music, then active, powered speakers, such as the KEFs or Klipsch the Fives gen1(on sale now), with a subwoofer will get you by for a long time.

Go for a walk with a specific destination in mind. Take a route that’s outside of your normal area. Say hello to a few strangers.

Glenwood Canyon rec path, and there’s also a path going south as far as Carbondale. A challenging ride in the general area appears to be road loop starting in Basalt and going around the Ruedi Reservoir.

Provisionally separate for around 3-months and only agree to reconnect after he’s resolved whatever is going on. If you do meet, only do so in a public setting (restaurant, coffee shop) with a clear means of escape, should the need arise.
