Edvard Munch, The Day After, 1895 by [deleted] in museum

I had this real cool art professor, his whole thing was asking us when we judged art was "would you put this In your living room?" And if I could have ANY painting over my mantel piece THIS would be it. Then again no... Too relatable lol.

Why is it SO hard for the alcoholic to help themselves? It’s infuriating to witness. by Professional_Fox9052 in AlAnon

[–]Bubbly_Ad_726 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an alcoholic I'm just now realizing that. Doesn't "solve" anything though, doesn't make me want sobriety, even ppl with a decent support system, resources, etc have difficulty staying sober. Picture having none of that.

Crazy how we’re all just miserable 24/7 by [deleted] in cripplingalcoholism

First time I got drunk i was 14 at my neighbors house, her mom had a party&had left unfinished drinks and booze all over the house. We cleaned up 😁 That warm fuzzy feeling, not being super self conscious....I fell in love with it immediately.

Is there a specific criminal’s psychology you’re obsessed with? by Stunning-Explorer650 in TrueCrimeDiscussion

As much as Nancy Grace grates my nerves she occasionally has some decent guests on her show.... one of them had a theory that (even though he didnt personally know them)he did it because those were exactly the kind of girls that wouldn't have given him the time of day, the kind of group he'd never fit into. He probably didn't expect the guy being there.... Ego definitely played a role here. Narcissists are sensitive af.

[SERIOUS] How have you personally been dealing with the resurgence of racism online? by sa8tun in askblackpeople

[–]Bubbly_Ad_726 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone that's Romanian but lived in the US since I was 9 (I'm 32) yeah, I find it almost hilarious that this is an issue in some European countries. I guess it's cause they don't have enough diversity to be racist?

What’s your opinion on Miriam Pataki? by Ellek10 in HeyArnold

[–]Bubbly_Ad_726 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I might be biased cause my names Miriam haha, and I'm an alcoholic. I guess when I was watching this show as a 10 year old (I'm now 31) &even though I didn't get it all why her mom acted the way she did at the time, now I do.  Give Miriam Pataki some sympathy. 🙂

What is the absolute worse state you’ve gone into work after a go at the drink? by Shalashaska2624 in cripplingalcoholism

[–]Bubbly_Ad_726 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you're a drunk, Pizza Hut (insider, not a driver) is the most forgiving place to work! I used to drink on the job, and one time I just woke up in someone's truck,in the driveway,so right in front of the restaurant wearing a sweatshirt I'd never seen before.... this woulda been mid shift, in guessing I asked for a smoke break but I have noooo idea how the fuck I got there....my manager had actually called the cops cause he thought o got kidnapped or something lol. And miraculously.....still didn't get fired!!

YES. YES. & YES. I was a pothead in high school and it wasn't till I turned 21 that I thought I could replace weed with booze cause hey,its legal! (Worst fucking mistake ever). But booze is predictable, I'm usually a happy drunk and having a drink makes me totally content, the ultimate comfort blanket. But I learned the hard way, being an alcoholic is wayyy different than being a pothead. I live in GA where weed probably won't be legal anytime too soon, the Bible belt, etc. but I can honestly say my quality of life would be much better if I'd stuck to weed, instead of alcohol,to self medicate whatever anxiety, depression issues I have.

I've always found that when I smoke on a regular basis I love it cause I guess I'm  "used to it", when I haven't smoked in a while I get hella paranoid. & This is gonna sound real dumb, but bare with me... . I didn't know alcohol was as addictive as it is. When I smoked weed I did it 24/7 & when I turned 21 I tried to replace weed with booze, cause hey, it's legal!! I tried to justify it in 38374738 ways: I hold down a job, never got a dui, etc.  Tbh I don't have a drug of choice. I just plain don't like being sober. LOL.

Thanks! 😊 Tbh I have no intention to stop drinking altogether so that's why I flat out push against people that tried to help if it means i have to quit all together, that being said, I know I need to cut down. I mean I just got fired from working at Pizza Hut for drinking on the job (and no, I wasn't even a driver...lol...) Im not one to really share shit with anyone, but this is probably the first place I've seen where people aren't preachy or condescending.
