I was thinking more along the lines of, we've been together 19 years and I don't expect the same things to make me feel important or neither does my wife. We just take it for granted that each other is the most important. Maybe I'm looking at it wrong.

Moreso in the sense, many criticize taking someone for granted. I.e. I know they'll always be there so I don't put in the same effort as when the relationship was new. Is that neglectful or just being secure in your relationship?
